At a very busy Orchards Community Forum meeting with Cathy and @LynnWorrall - lots of people concerned about the council’s proposal to build on Elm Road Open Space.
Cllr @LynnWorrall has issued this challenge to the #Thurrock Tories: have an open debate about where you want to build on our carparks, parks, open spaces and neighbourhoods. @thurrocklabour are on the side of our residents.

Everyone @thurrocklabour would like to say a huge thank you to the many hundreds of people who came to help us with our campaign.
Although we didn't get the result we wanted, your support, friendship and solidarity meant the world to us.
Merry Christmas, Everyone! ❤🎄🌹🍾
@TheJohnKent Let’s do this! Labour gain in Thurrock on Thursday. There is so much we need to get done for local people after nearly a decade of Conservative rule and our local Conservative MP has backed the closure of our local hospital and ignores the concerns of local residents. #VoteLabour
We have knocked on thousands of doors and spoken with thousands of folk as well as delivering tens of thousands of leaflets. Thank you to each and everyone of you who has helped - one more push tomorrow! @thurrocklabour
Why is it all I seem to hear from @CllrJamesHalden is how well Thurrock schools are doing? https://t.co/zd48HrgdMB . Add that into the appalling air quality, lack of public transport and Council house waiting lists and our ruling Tories will still find something to be proud of!
The Conservatives have cut £37m from Essex police budgets, with a loss of 600 officers and 300 PCSOs.
In Thurrock, 3 police stations closed and we suffered a 44% rise in violent crime last year.
Our Conservative MP has voted for every single cut.

Absolutely fantastic day on the #labourdoorstep talking to residents across #thurrock made loads of contacts, found lots of support for @TheJohnKent and had over 100 activists out. A huge thanks to all who joined us!
So many teams out for @thurrocklabour@TheJohnKent today. We were talking to residents about the local hospital which has closed and the investment @UKLabour will make in our NHS and public services 🌹❤️
23 seconds of Boris Johnson's interview this morning that every working class person should see. And when Labour bring in Free Broadband, they will be able to.
@thurrocklabour . Another 5 good reasons Thurrock residents cannot trust our Tory MP to represent them in Westminster . Only a vote for Labours John Kent on December 12th will see her lose her seat .
I was very proud be at the British Legion Service of Remembrance at the War Memorial, in Grays, and to lay a wreath in the memory of all who made such sacrifice for our freedom.
On 6 November 1946, Nye Bevan’s National Health Service Bill became law.
The Tories voted against the NHS Bill 22 times. They can't be trusted to protect it. Labour created the NHS and Labour will always care for it.
