Outages reported in the Emporia area.

Late this morning wind speeds in excess of 80 mph have knocked several distribution poles down. Power provider crews are working in the area trying to safely restore power. At this time we have not been given a restoration time.

Lyon-Coffey members in the Emporia area are experiencing power outages this afternoon. The crews are doing some distribution line switching from the earlier week's outages. For their safety they are denergizing the line. They expect less than one hour at this time.

Approximately 7:45 this evening we're being notified of a provider distribution line off affecting our Thunderbird and Americus substations. This is causing power outages west and Northwest of the city of Emporia. At this time we have not been given any estimated restoral times.

Our power supplier has confirmed there is indeed an issue with the same distribution line they replaced yesterday. They do have crews dispatched but have not given Lyon-Coffey an estimated time of restoral. More details when available.
