Our 2013B Black team recently got together to send off a teammate whose family is relocating — a reminder that the friendships, memories, and support go far beyond the field.
It’s always more than just a game, and we’re so thankful for this special community. 💚🖤

Andy Rooney landed on the beach of Normandy days after D-Day, 80 years ago today. In 2004, he shared a firsthand account of “a day unlike any other.”
“It’s hard for anyone who has been in a war to describe the terror of it to anyone who hasn’t,” he said. https://t.co/xknrIeLymT.
@FAFSA please let me know how to get an issue fixed. Sent in a account verification 2/5/24 and have not received a reply. Nor have any of the follow up request. Your chat refers to emailing or calling in, but your phone lines continue to hang up on me. Suggestions?
Coaching is eclectic!
It shouldn’t eliminate nor disregard. It shouldn’t consign to the bin. There’s no one single way that is correct or perfect or efficacious above all.
There’s no one right way to coach…
Coaching is telling what to do and asking others to figure it out themselves
Coaching is directly instructing and engaging in non-directive instruction such as questioning
Coaching is constraining and affording
Coaching is convergent and divergent
Coaching is having a framework and having a blank template
Coaching is structured and creative…it’s didactic and fluid
Coaching is empirical and experiential
Coaching is stretch and support
Coaching is physical and mental
Coaching can be theoretical and atheoretical
Coaching can embrace holism and reductionism
Coaching is north and south and east and west
Apart from bullying and any kind of ‘ism’ that excludes, all can fit. Everything is possible. Away from maladaptive human interaction and physical abuse there is neither right nor wrong in coaching.
Coaching is a pragmatic profession or hobby guided by a keen mix of context, culture, research, practice, and exploratory thinking. That is a coaches privilege and a coaches burden. That’s what makes it sometimes simple, often difficult, and occasionally the toughest job or hobby out there.
Coaching lies in the grey, so before anyone tells themselves: “this is the way to do it”…stop! Check yourself! There are many ways. There are many methods. You may stumble upon the ‘optimal’ way for your current circumstance, but that (very possibly) doesn’t make it the ‘right’ way…just the best way right now for your context.
One of my favorite days of the year, @WoodfordReserve Double Double Oak day!l which is a distillery only, annual release. It also happens to be one of my favorite Woodford Reserve pours. #Bourbon#Whiskey#Kentucky
Nobody asked but ... My thoughts on KHSAA's RPI
🏈 Meh-to-OK. Weighting class wins helps. Has produced great finals
⚽️Bad. But would rather have home-field settled by it than rotation/blind. Needs fix.
🏐 Complete trash. Not close to a real ranking. Shouldn't be used for anything
