Doomers have always predicted a betrayal that never happens. Ghalibaf and Araghchi aren't idiots and they don't trust the US. Araghchi survived an assassination attempt on 2/28! They know exactly what they're doing. At least, that's how I see it. A lot of Iranian accounts feel differently and I guess they know more than I do. But that's my guess, anyway.
Personally, I think they're stalling till Strait closure really starts to hurt. The current protests in Iran demanding a harder line could be a way to buy more time. The US might have agreed to just about everything Iran demanded and so an excuse was needed. If so, Trump's next tweet is really going to be a tantrum.
@Villgecrazylady It's definitely their MO, but somehow I think a false flag would backfire on them. But might try, and no one knows for sure if enough people will buy it or not. Maybe they will. Unfortunately.
@BrettErickson28 Do you think Iran will give up on the toll because EU/allied laws are too complicated? Or will they block the Strait indefinitely until the EU figures out the problem itself? Because ultimately it comes down to Iran choosing one over the other.
@SynthesizedA@JucheAffirmer Definitely not enjoy but they can endure it, knowing that in a few months the payoff will be huge. No one in Iran trusts the US, but they go through the motions to avoid blame. Pro resistance accounts always scream betrayal, even when Iran outmaneuvers the US every time.
@farkingralph@imetatronink The US public when the economic effects directly atteibutable to this war are felt without any anesthesia. I'm hypothesizing that Iran may use economic pressure to bring about a regime change of their own. Maybe wishful thinking, but maybe ๐คท๐
@MatthewMcCrac18@imetatronink It's unfortunate, but the world submitted to US/zionist tyranny for so long because it was the path of least resistance. One way or another there was always going to be a price to pay.
