Parallel execution is included in Starknet v0.13.2, set to launch on Mainnet this August 🧑‍🍳

With Parallelization, we expect Starknet's TPS capacity to increase to around 250 TPS.

How? Very simple 👇

This new mechanism will enable the Starknet sequencer to process unrelated transactions in parallel rather than sequentially:

👎 Sequential transaction management processes transactions one after the other, regardless of their (in)dependence.
👍 Parallel transaction management processes unrelated transactions (such as sending ETH from A to B, minting an NFT collection by C, and swapping USDC for STRK by D) simultaneously, optimizing TPS capacity.

This is a huge step for Starknet, making us the first L2 to implement such a mechanism, and it's happening in just a few weeks (26th August)! ⚡️

Regarding the recent Velocore exploit:

Metavault's MVX-WETH was impacted for a total of $22K with the $MVX instantly dumped on the market. Metavault's team has used backup funds to buy back and burn $MVX to bring back the market to its pre-exploit state.

Liquidity has been increased on the @koi_finance (previously Mute) position for our zkSync pool.

If Velocore is able to recover partially or fully the funds, the liquidity will return to the backup fund.

Thanks to our constant and rapid market monitoring, the impact on Metavault and $MVX was rapidly offset.

Security and due diligence are important topics for us, but DeFi and the crypto industry can face such events. That's why we carefully split funds across multiple partners, always ready to handle such situations.

The perp DEX narrative is strong! A year ago, the daily trading volume across all perp DEXs was $1 billion — now, it has surged to $10 billion. Binance still handles a volume equivalent to a week's worth of all perp DEXs in just one day, but I’m confident that perp DEXs will more than 10x in volume over the next year!

As time goes by, the Starknet ecosystem is gradually taking shape and becoming stronger.

With an increasingly active @StarknetFndn, upcoming programs for users, and an ambitious 2024 roadmap, Starknet will soon be so back 🔮

Let's take a quick look at what's happening behind the scenes👀👇

1️⃣ Ecosystem

While Cairo is a long-term strength for Starknet due to its ultra-optimization for ZK and lack of EVM limitations, it is also the main barrier to developer adoption in the short run.

Despite this, Starknet already host innovative dApps such as @EkuboProtocol (an AMM v4) and @avnu_fi (Starknet's Jupiter), but it is clearly not enough compared to other ecosystems.

The good news is that on one hand, major gaming projects are maturing and preparing to launch on Mainnet, with @influenceth set to launch on June 27 and Eternum of @LootRealms in the coming months, and on the other hand, knowing the roadmap of some projects, exciting things are coming!

But it's not YET ENOUGH, I know it! While I recently joined StarkWare, I’m still a degen like all of you.

So, knowing that developers have to make a huge effort and invest time in learning a new language, it's a considerable economic sacrifice and a risky bet at this stage. This is why most DeFi '2.0' use-cases are yet to be live on Starknet.

This is where the Foundation comes into play 🦸

The Foundation is currently active on two fronts to enable the emergence of this DeFi 2.0 and next generation gaming projects.

Firstly, the Foundation is providing an increasing number of grants and support programs to developers. This includes grant programs (3/4): https://t.co/ZkII37q6rq and the new Catalyst program: https://t.co/TFgmlCRz7h.

Now, developers have several support programs available that cater to all stages of their dApps development!

Secondly, the Foundation is producing more resources for developers, more events and hosting more hackathons. Notably, an upcoming Starknet Hackathon is soon to be held in Brussels: https://t.co/9LmEWcQv4U.

While the benefits of these initiatives may take time to materialize, we will start seeing them very soon.

2️⃣ Community

There are currently 4 exciting things coming (or already here) for users:

🐺 First is the DeFi spring: the APR for liquidity providers is currently insane. If you look carefully, opportunities with over 50% APR on Stablecoin, STRK or ETH in SINGLE asset farming can be found! And once the DeFi spring is over, I have no doubt that the Foundation will follow up with a similar new program. More about DeFi Spring: https://t.co/9XU1GVqIR2

🐺 The second is the Wolf Pack Program: this program aims to support creators (whether devs, but especially content creators). I would have dreamed of having such a program when I started my content creator adventure on Starknet. Now it's here and it's here for you. All you need to do is contribute to Starknet's growth in your unique way and be rewarded for it!

🐺 The third is a result of the first part: the Foundation invests time and money to onboard developers, enabling them to create innovative applications for YOU. This means more use-cases, more opportunities, more farming activities, more more more and more! And you will have a chance to be early in each of these new projects

In summary, people who continue to believe in and use the Starknet network are presently well rewarded and will continue to receive even more rewards in the near future (NFA DYOR) 😉

3️⃣ Roadmap

In the long term, I see no obstacle for Starknet. Just take a look at the roadmap:

🐺 Transaction Parallelization: This feature will significantly increase TPS capacity. It's what powers giants like Solana, Sui, Aptos, and the reason Monad is currently hyper hyped. Well: Starknet will be the first L2 to integrate this feature, and it's coming VERY soon (Q2)

🐺 Applicative Recursion: Originally planned for Q4, this feature will arrive at the same time as Transaction Parallelization (due to StarkWare's faster than expected progress ⚡). This will allow faster finality and increased cost efficiency.

🐺 Cairo Native: This feature will enable another substantial increase in the network's TPS capacity.

🐺 Volition: This will enable a new major reduction in gas fees.

And this is only the roadmap for 2024… Just imagine the roadmap for the next 5 years… But yeah we don’t care, 5 years is too far for us 🐒, but still just imagine 🤯

In conclusion:
🔹 The tech is no longer a problem and will only improve exponentially
🔹 Devs now receive all the support they need to take the plunge, learn Cairo, and build their projects
🔹 Users will enjoy two new programs (Wolf Pack and the new one from the Foundation), and surely others to come.

The future looks fucking bright 😏
