A field hockey game heading into double OT came to a halt so that Kent State could have fireworks before its football game.
After the game between Temple and No. 24 Maine abruptly ended, the NCAA deemed it a scrimmage. https://t.co/jgHkKvVKcG
All this AB stuff shouldn’t distract you from the fact that Kent State forced a college field hockey game to end in a No Contest so they could safely shoot off fireworks for a noon football game in a different stadium
This is ridiculous. Be better, @KentState
And... how is this a "no contest" if the home team calls off the game? Sounds like a Black Bear win to me!

Well... that's a new one.
Today's game at @KentState has been declared a "no contest" after Kent State administration came onto the field prior to the second overtime half and called off the game to allow the noontime Kent football game to begin on time.
Temple battled to a 70-minute scoreless tie with #24 Maine, but unfortunately a field scheduling issue prevented it from being played to completion.
The game will be entered as a scrimmage.

Maine and Temple were playing each other in field hockey at Kent St. Saturday morning.
There was no winner.
Kent St. officials called the game off before the 2nd OT so the Kent St. football game could start on time next door.
