I've met people who are not racist towards whites because:

1: They just don't think about race or politics much at all
2: They are white supremacists
3: They have an "all sides" mentality, and yes I have seen this on the left

I’m simply expressing uncertainty about the cause of the effects. For all I know, the cause of the increased mental illness was the unusually frequent psychiatric care which was dissimilar to what the average Finnish patient got leading to surveillance bias effects or iatrogenic harm.

There’s a LOT of places where surveillance bias or iatrogenic harm could have cropped up beyond the actual practice of say, prescribing kids hormones or identifying them as trans. In order to rule out such possibilities, it would be good to see similar styles of studies in other countries, as I think most studies I’ve seen are subject to survivorship bias, choice-supportive bias, courtesy bias, and so on.

This model of looking at people’s actual health records over time seems better than simply asking “do you not regret this irreversible life-changing medical decision? By the way, if you say yes, you’re condemning trans kids to suicide. Oh you said yes? Wow science has proven gender affirming care works :)”

It is interesting, but those studies had a different design. They didn’t have nearly as long of a time window, they had significantly more drop-outs, they relied harder on what people said about themselves.

This one simply looked at people’s psychiatric issues before and after transisitioning, which cut short any self-delusion, lying, problems with drop-out, etc. I would still like to see this study replicated but it’s fucking harrowing. It makes gender transition look like the new lobotomy.

It is not trivial to add a time library to every system out there and it might shock you how much COTS enterprise shitware only supports UTC

Systems being off by an hour 6 months out of the year is often not an issue with any actual impact though. This isn’t Y2K bug or 2038, this often means nothing other than some manager getting a report one hour off when they’re supposed to get it until somebody hardcodes UTC-7

@MarksGonePublic On a software level switching to a single time zone is a hell of a lot easier than having DST. All software understands UTC and PCT is just UTC-7.

The old system meant switching between UTC-8 and UTC-7 every 6 months.

I’ve seen surveys given to a teacher and parent, both falsified, packaged in with falsified evidence from a social worker, and signed off by a psychiatrist who knew everything was false. The child signed off on something relatively truthful and that signature was stapled to all the gratuitously false information. Everybody involved had a long standing relationship with the child’s parent. There was other testing as well which was not defrauded but it was no huge obstacle to overcome.

The aim was to “prove” a specific threshold of impairment to access a government benefit.

There is a problem in how the evaluations are designed in that there is no requirement for there to be an evaluation by somebody who does not know the person being evaluated, does not know their family, and does not benefit from more diagnosis’s being found. The entire system as it’s structured now creates an illusion of rigor. But in fact everybody has aligned incentives and often they all have personal relationships with eachother. I’ve seen with my own eyes how easily a single motivated actor can tear through the supposed rigor of this system like it’s tissue paper.

By the way, what I just described is medical child abuse and gaslighting to the extreme where even those sceptical as they come who follow Allen Frances will assume the battery must be true.
