@Schaffrillas calling Rob Schneider racist over the roles he played doesn’t sit right with me.
Rob playing Asian, Black, Mexican, and other characters, including the brownface bits, reads as edgy 2000s comedy to me. Sandler-movie humour. Not something I take as proof he hates those groups.
You can joke about anyone as long as it isn’t coming from hate. That’s how I see those parts. Cheap, broad, not a manifesto.
I also think a lot of the heat is because Rob supports MAGA. The old clips get treated as evidence after the politics, not before.
And the test is simple. If a Black actor did whiteface in the same kind of comedy, would it get called racist the same way? A lot of people scoring Rob wouldn’t say yes. That’s the double standard.
I don't hate @Schaffrillas over this. I think he's a good guy and makes great content as well as brilliant YTPs. But there have been plenty of times where I just don't or can't agree with his takes / views. But that can be with a lot of content creators or even people in general. We all got our views/opinions, and I'm just sharing mine. :3
