My Mum died ten years ago today (June 7th, 2016). A few hours after she died I was sitting alone in the house, deeply upset as you can imagine, when I had the strangest experience. An intense tingling that went quickly from my toes, up through my body and out through my head. It only lasted a few seconds but it left me with a feeling of absolute peace and calm. I have always believed that was my Mum. A final, parting gift, letting me know she was okay. It made the unbearable bearable. I have no belief in a God or a Heaven, I am not spiritual in any way, but I believe that moment. Miss you Mum. Xxxxx
Today has been updating website, finally programming my Icom IC-R15 scanner, and learning what the functions are on my new Nikon Z6 III. Had a play with it and then run through photoshop to get the best result. A great model to work with too.
3G0Z experienced some logging issues on the last couple of days, so Felipe has had to get deep into the log to do some fixing. I decided to take the log off the air for a couple of hours today while we get the problem sorted. I now feel quite confident that we are back on track with 3G0Z log. We do see some Qs are logged on the wrong band. If you see your QSO wrongly band plotted, please drop me a line so we can fix it. Thank you for your patience.

@RoyalMail Royal Mail why is it so hard to speak to one of your customer service representatives? Not only is your delivery service terrible, but your customer service is even worse!!!
Use your millions of pound profits on employing some of the young kids who are out of work!
@ukradiom3zzf Electronic QSL can easily be faked. Every day I get emails saying “well it’s in my log book”. Well it’s not in mine and that’s the one that counts. ARRL LoTW is the best and most secure electronic QSL platform.
@Jonatha74268164@jamiemillington HF0PAS has been on 21282.0 today and yesterday was on 21280.0 listen and monitor because he stops to do some work and comes back a little later to the same frequency or very close
The Icom IC-R15 is the best scanner I have used. I have mine now programmed up and use it to listen to the aircraft on 1 band and marine on the other. I will be using it at airports to listen to approach and ground, especially at RIAT next year.
I had some fun getting my Dad’s (SK) HF station back on the air after 25 years. My straight key skills aren’t perfect, but good enough to be picked up by the RBN. It put a smile on my face! 73
Another "wow" moment today at radio club as we listened to satellite RS-44 as it passed by.Once we tuned into the frequency range of the linear transponder as it transited off the north coast of America,to our amazement we heard the "whisky alpha" station WA3YDZ from Philadelphia
Dave Mann, G8ADM, who was the president of the BATC passed away peacefully in his sleep last night. He was well known in both in amateur and professional television circles. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
@JuliaHB1 Your biased opinion about Tommy Robinson shows exactly how you are not the appropriate person to discuss @TRobinsonNewEra I suggest that you go and watch every Tommy video even back to his EDL days and educate yourself. Only then will you be in a position to to talk about @TRobinsonNewEra
Here are 4 things that happened to the UK in the last 24 hours:
1. The Labour government confirmed it will remove the right to a jury trial. Cases will be tried by a judge alone.
2. The Labour gvt confirmed it will impose Digital ID despite it never being included in Labour's manifesto and nearly 3 million Brits signing a petition against it.
3. The Labour gvt confirmed we will "align" with the European Union, directly going against the 2016 democratic vote for Brexit & forcing the British people to pay billions for laws they'll never be able to influence.
4. The Labour gvt confirmed that while Islamist sympathisers & antisemites are free to march on the streets of our capital city, & while it welcomes former allies of al-Qaeda into Downing Street, it has banned conservative activists from joining a peaceful protest against mass immigration in London.
Put all these things together and you get a sense - just a sense - of how hideously authoritarian and illiberal this Labour government really is.

A few weeks ago, we announced that we were hard at work on a new challenge: “Destination X”. From the feedback we received, it was clear that many radio amateurs immediately showed interest in our next DX-pedition. We still had a few things to finalize, but we can finally share the news with you now.
After months of intensive work and extensive administrative consultations, we have officially obtained the amateur radio licence. In February 2027, we are heading to Somalia!
On 14 February 2026, our local contact was invited to the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology in Hargeisa, where Minister Jamaal Mohamed Jama personally handed over the official licence. During the DX-pedition, we will be active under the callsign 6O6X (“six oscar six x‑ray”)
.Although the Belgian government still advises against travel to Somalia, several reliable sources confirm that Somaliland, located in the northwest, is the safest region of the country. The safety of the team is the top priority, which is why we have deliberately chosen to organise our activities in this area. On average, the country receives barely 500 visitors per year.
The team currently has a very promising location lined up and is in the final stages of negotiations to make the DX-pedition happen at this site.A Belgian–Dutch team of 11 operators will be fully committed to making this DXpedition a success once again.
Team:
• ON4AMX | Marc Michiels
• ON4HIL | Patrick Godderie
• ON5UR | Max Van Rymenant | Teamleader
• ON5TN | Karel Moerman
• ON6CC | Marc Cosemans
• ON6DX | Wim Hamblok
• ON7RU | Franky Beuselinck
• ON7USB | Geert Cottyn
• ON8AZ | Francis Balcaen | Teamleader
• PA3EWP | Ronald Stuy
We are facing some particularly major challenges; the current global situation is not making things easy for us. In recent weeks, airfares have already risen by 30%. Logistics, and especially the transport of all equipment, also represent a significant challenge under the current circumstances. Nevertheless, the team aims to be active with five to six HF https://t.co/xydP0n4QdP addition, we are exploring whether techniques such as QO-100 satellite communication and EME (Earth-Moon-Earth) communication are feasible. If successful, these would be the very first QO-100 and EME contacts ever made from Somalia. With this DX-pedition, DX-Adventure aims to once again offer the worldwide amateur radio community a unique activation, while at the same time pushing the boundaries of what is possible.

• After the excellent cooperation in the past, DX-Adventure has decided to team up once again with the United Radio QSL Management Bureau. For the 6O6X DXpedition, Tim Beaumont will act as the official QSL manager, ensuring a professional and efficient handling of all QSL cards and LoTW confirmations.
• Our website is still in its early stages. Over the coming weeks, we will be adding regular updates and new content as we continue to build it out. Make sure to visit frequently and stay informed about all the latest news on the 6O6X DXpedition.
