Just talked with a college student about this. I don't think progressives realize how their contempt for straight white males is directing a lava flow of angst that will culturally erupt at some point, ultimately undermining their goals against 'toxic masculinity.' #Backfire
The issue with this outlook is, as many Jews correctly point out, antisemitism is a pretty darn pervasive and age-old phenomenon that doesn't really seem to go away under any circumstance. True! So you can kind of make this argument anytime, and then you end up effectively rejecting all criticism of Israel. Now, I would certainly argue that the actions of the world's only Jewish state, unfortunately, DO have some serious effect on the level of antisemitism present worldwide, which I don't think is contradictory.
This guy is a U.S. senator. One who sits on Foreign Relations! He has visited the region many times and worked with officials on both sides of the conflict. If literally anybody should be writing about this, it's him! This piece very explicitly criticizes the Israeli government while detailing a path towards peace for both Jews and Palestinians in the region. Your objection is that it's a bad time for Jews, so therefore a US senator should not speak about the most prominent conflict on earth, one in which he partially controls funding towards a combatant? I guess my question is, what would have been a good time to post something like this? Is this not the exact, measured criticism of the state that we should encourage as liberal Zionists?
Btw the Soviets used to fund college protest movements across the U.S.. They funded everything and any thing from anti-nuclear power, unilateral disarmament, and racial unrest. Anything that could undermine the US or her interests. It would be crazy to think communists just stopped doing this.
This is what drives me insane about this shit. You got handed the ability to do this, they gave you people the fucking keys, and it was a disaster. You did not know what you were doing, it did not succeed, you could not perform. The outcomes were worse! You failed!
Idk, just saw your reply but I just don’t agree w the idea that these leftists were just Jew haters in hiding lol. Your opponents disagree with you! They hate Israel! They’re not secretly hiding their bigotry! Their hatred of Israel becomes antisemetic at certain points without them realizing, in the same way kendi explained how white people can be racist w out meaning to be! (I disagree w the entire concept but I’m saying if you’re for one you’re for the other)
This is always so funny to me when right wingers say this, because *kind of very true*, but to get here you unequivocally have to accept a leftist framing of racism/bigotry. If you’re looking for someone to say “I hate Jews”, it’s gonna be someone on the right! Looking for someone to say they like Jews with their direct words, but THEN express behavior or actions that could, per se, *systemically* harm Jews? Someone on the left!
I appreciate the philosemitic vibes but it would be cooler if right wingers simply applied their consistent standard of “racism doesn’t exist unless someone admits they are racist” to every group and not just Jews, or not at all!
(I am largely team not at all, but hey!)
I keep thinking ab this because it’s such a perfect example of exactly what I’m talking ab lol
You think those people w Hamas triangles where just huge jew haters until October 7 gave them an opportunity to hate Jews more openly?
Or do you think they’re largely dumb college leftists who really don’t like Israel and their opposition to Israeli actions pushed them into what you’d consider antisemitism territory
Like, are you making the claim that these Hamas triangle people are being *intentionally antisemetic*? Like they think they are and are ok with that? If so, that’s a wildly delusional frame of mind for the left and idrk where to go from there. If not, congrats! You’re a firm believer in systemic bigotry and anti-racism
But like… you agree they’re putting those triangles in their bio because they don’t like Israel, right? And that dislike of Israel, despite many of their personal intentions (half the Hamas triangles are token anti Zionist Jews nowadays!) is what leads them to a largely inadvertent antisemitism, yes?
You can pretend that th 14 twitter lefty’s celebrating nova are in any way even mildly representative of the left but I think we both know that’s not true lmao
I think it’s quite obvious when you talk about antisemitism on the left youre talking about super anti Israel people who’s dislike of Israel *you correctly* identify as unconsciously sliding into antisemitism
I like how Mamdani took seriously the idea that we need to be rooting out wasteful spending with his own version of DOGE. We should do that on the national level. And rather than Elon's teenagers, it should be done by people with deep experience and care for the public sector.
Around the 30 second mark Ashley shows a group chat that consists of White House officials and influencers who work together to send out talking points on here, and it includes people like Jack Posobiec. There has never been a faker movement than the new right, just top to bottom artificial and paid for
the President of the United States attempted a coup last time he was in office and then he cruised back to nomination without a sweat and immediately pardoned all his conspirators
"the Republican party wants to destroy the Republic" is only barely an exaggeration
It’s fun to watch the few socialists I’ve maintained a modicum of respect for die on the hill that Hasan Piker doesn’t want to execute CEO’s while Hasan Piker is actively tweeting “I want to execute CEO’s”
@KelseyTuoc I think you've pretty clearly misrepresented Piker here. He was asked to theorize why some people reacted to the killing positively. And his theory is that they did so due to the disgust with health insurance sector's "social murder," which is a well-defined term of art.
