There is so much emphasis put on “success” or “happiness”. What is success or happiness? It’s so arbitrary and can feel daunting. Instead look at each day and ask yourself, “Am I content?” or “Do I feel fulfilled?”. You’ll find the burden of success and happiness start to diminish and in doing so you may just find yourself enjoying each day a little more.
Research has shown that consciously practicing gratitude can reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. In fact, studies have found that a single act of thoughtful gratitude produces an immediate 10% increase in happiness, and a 35% reduction in depressive symptoms. Today let’s be thankful!

The circle of people you surround yourself with will change over the course of your life. Change can be a positive if it embodies personal growth. Surround yourself with independent thinkers, people of integrity, and individuals who will hold themselves as well as you accountable. Positive change requires a strong support system. Take a look at your circle and ask yourself, “Am I surrounded by people who are going where I want to be in 5 years?”.

“Mental health problems don’t define who you are. They are something you experience. You walk in the rain and you feel the rain, but you are not the rain.” — Matt Haig

Have you ever felt that there are signs all around you? Have you seen or heard things that you feel are speaking directly to you? Pulled this out of a wall at a coffee shop this weekend. Don’t ignore those signs! #StrongMen#YouAreNotAlone#MentalHealthAwareness#Dads#Husbands #KeepGoing
What type of man do I want to be?
Defining what it means to be “strong” and “masculine” has become increasingly difficult in our society. Too many of us are afraid to be vulnerable for fear of how we might be judged by our employers and in our social circles.
Can we let our guard down and open up?As a businessman, father and husband, this is a question I have struggled to find the answer to for years. A life changing event led me to an even more important question: “What happens if I don’t let my guard down?”
It wasn’t until I opened up about my vulnerabilities that I was truly able to free myself of so many internal struggles I was having. Does that mean I lack strength? Does it make me any less masculine?
It is important for me to be the father and husband my family deserves and by addressing my own issues, I have been able to find a new level of strength and masculinity I didn’t know existed.
For too long I was letting my storm get my family wet. As the patriarch of my family it is my responsibility to shelter them from the storm which I am now able to do. So be vulnerable, confront your demons, show them that YOU are the storm. I promise you’ll find that you are stronger than you ever knew!
