@nagamyzuna Because the source of a quote matters more than the quote itself in politics. Rubio saying “give peace a chance” last year before 6 months of peace talks is different from Hasan saying it because he sees any defeat Ukraine as a western defeat
@hecubian_devil@MostlyMonkey@darkacademician Why do you keep smuggly posting this when over a dozen people have told you the issue? Politics is complementary to an ethics. Your ethical values did not spring from nothing. You want a world of WASP tolerance without the religious part which makes zero sense in politics
If these leftist freaks are going to run on the omnicause they should at the very least have to answer the fundamental paradoxical element to their Israel policy. It’s not actually inconsistent though because their follow up would be “if they continue to fight we would invade them” which is obviously insane but also something the public should be allowed to understand before they vote for these candidates it’s fucking crazy
This is unconscionable. Anybody with eyes and a heart knows the Israeli government is committing genocide in Gaza. It has to end, and we as Americans have the power to end it.
When I'm in the U.S. Senate, I’ll never vote in favor of US taxpayer-funded military aid to Israel.
You will not be able to find a revolution in history predicated on material conditions consistently improving. Something the maoist larp misses is that wealth inequality can drive shifts in politics, but a “cultural revolution” can not happen if that wealth inequality is divorced from QOL significantly
Today @POTUS informed Congress of his intent to rescind Syria’s designation as a State Sponsor of Terrorism. This historic step opens new possibilities for economic opportunity and recovery, giving the Syrian people a chance at greatness.
the problem of the 21st century in American politics imo is that the GOP is only interesting in winning elections and the Dems are only interested in governing (I say this neutrally for both domains) and I think this sort of dynamic is an accelerationist nightmare that requires someone to break and start doing the other part of politics. Dropping Platner after he won the election demonstrates a wider fragility to the party that demonstrates they dont have the drive to truly win elections and idk I think the only place we go from here with an increasingly spineless and weak dem party is a slopuist spiral that goes nowhere good
American politics is likely irrecoverable if Platner drops out. This is the moment for the Dems to acknowledge what it means to do politics and so far they are failing as hard as they possibly could
@Kaarnema@TheSneerReview And everyone knew Platner’s character was horrible in the primary. I was against Platner and still despise him but he’s the candidate unless the party elites can force him to drop out
Mills team and Schumer should be blacklisted as well for obviously withholding all of the garbage they knew that was out there (and from every Republican insider I've seen there is somehow still more out there) but this weird idea that the Dems would see a primary challenge and not use their vast array of institutional capital to find out the answer to the question "hey why did this guy sign up with Blackwater?" is laughable. the only reason people like Sanders seem to get behind creatures like this is because besides being a horrible judge of character, there is a good chance Sanders is unwilling, and at this point also not allowed to, to interact with the party elites to actually figure out whats lurking behind some of these more controversial candidates
this weird line is almost as annoying as the people getting cold feet. AOC, and anyone serious in the party, would have known he was not someone to get attached to because they for sure saw the internal oppo research or talked to someone who had
I would like to give kudos to AOC for once again being the only adult leftist and avoiding Graham Platner like the plague
It's amazing how many times the rest of the left does something apocalyptically stupid and the only one who avoids having to backtrack is Cortez. Given she's a) way smarter than any other leftist political figure in America and b) a woman under 40, I suspect she took one look at Platner, thought "I would not leave my drink unattended near that guy," and stayed as far away from him as possible
Every single person who shilled this guy to the point of winning the primary now getting cold feet after all of the scandals need to be ejected from American political life they are too stupid and evil to be listened to
its 1000x true and this has been the most blackpilling event in dem politics at least in my lifetime. he had a nazi tattoo and still won the primary! everyone knew his character was shit! your two options are NUKE HIM from orbit by witholding ad money or just saying "fuck it man I will vote for him until he gets charged with a crime". the middle option is morally abhorrent, but also just politically naive. it is a 2 party race you VOTE FOR ONE OF THE OPTIONS AFTER A PRIMARY

This is a pretty great chart — but who are all those people and what's the difference?
I wrote on each of the factions in the Russian politics on my Substack. 🔗⬇️
@DickDozer69@jeff82874662 nah I think 99% of this is that housing and education feel extremely unaffordable for reasons that are bad. fix those two things and people will very quickly stop caring about "wealth inequality" outside of NYC and LA
@jeff82874662 kind of crazy how almost every economic QOL indicator before and after Keynes is different. There is a world where US wealth inequality soars to heights that are unbelievable but the result is the poor live like the elites of the 00s
