Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor torched the conservative majority for their ruling that lets Alabama employ a never-before-used map the Court itself found intentionally discriminates against Black voters.
600,000 voters reassigned.
Court orders defied.
Democracy "debased." https://t.co/QWxgwQrXFl
Pete Hegseth personally intervened to block the promotions of several Navy officers, including Black and female officers who had already climbed their way through one of the most competitive promotion systems on earth.
These are officers who spent decades proving themselves.
I spent 24 years wearing this nations uniform.
Do you know what nobody ever told me?
That if I worked hard enough and sacrificed enough, someday my military career could be decided by the political opinion of a Fox News pundit playing Defense Secretary.
Instead of just asking "is Pulte qualified to be DNI?" Can I suggest reporters just READ THE FUCKING STATUTE TO REPUBLICANS, WHICH EXPLICITLY REQUIRES (SHALL, NOT MAY!) THE PERSON TO HAVE "EXTENSIVE NATIONAL SECURITY EXPERTISE."
@foxnewspolitics Just trying to ascertain a legal conflict of interest here, regarding statutory interpretation of the law naming the Kennedy center as the sole memorial to JFK...
Rubio: I have never seen Trump fall asleep.
Lieu: I’m going to show you a video that shows you just lied to congress. Here is a video of him asleep while you are talking.
@AdamPKincaid And the District Couet said that the 2023 map was just as entrenched in racial discrimination as the 2022 map, and SCOTUS agreed in 2023.
@SeanCasten@rolandsmartin Right. If there’s a finding of intently discrimination how does that not overcome the assumption of legislative good faith. This Court makes no sense and lost all crddibility anyone still thought it had.
The evidence was presented in an 11 day trial and I ain’t gonna do your work for you. If you that dumb, just be dumb. 🤷🏽♂️
Go find the Dirstrict Couets 2023 option ion that the Suprmee Court upheld, or read the f*ckin’ odd of the’re rent opinion that stated even with Callaos the discrimination was racial and intentional.
Google is free
This is the closest thing to a Dred Scott era decision I've seen from the SCOTUS in my lifetime.
Even 2 Trump appointees and a Clinton appointee unanimously found intentional racial discrimination in the 2023 Alabama map, yet the majority of SCOTUS by 6-3 moved the goalposts and dramatically narrowed protections Congress enacted through the Voting Rights Act, and reaffirmed over and over, since it was originally enacted.
If there's a fix, it has to come from Congress. That's why 2026 and 2028 matter so much. Vote accordingly!

Justice Sonia Sotomayor blasted the court’s conservative majority for a ruling that “debases the democratic process” by allowing Alabama to use a congressional map that the justices had previously found intentionally discriminated against Black voters. https://t.co/ahoPNpCSNd
WTF are you talkin about?
The district court found Alabama intentionally discriminated. After an 11 day trial, a unanimous three judge panel, including two Trump appointees, found Alabama adopted redistricting criteria that made it "mathematically impossible" to create the second opportunity district previously ordered by the courts and intentionally entrenched the discrimination already found in Allen I.
Fin!
@JustForKeeps99@ElectionCenter_ No!!! district court specifically found the map was intentionally racially discriminatory, not that it was an illegitimate "segregated district."
In fact, the court found little evidence that partisanship drove the map. You read the opinion, dumb*ss...
@EmTeaVe You big dummy. The unanimous three judge panel, including two Trump appointees, found intentional racial discrimination after an 11 day trial and found little evidence the map was driven by partisanship. Read the opinion before runnin your mouth.
