Today Morning , I intercepted a school van transporting pupils under dangerously overcrowded conditions. This is a stark reminder of how road negligence threatens our most vulnerable.

Our children's safety is non-negotiable. I have called on traffic police to strictly enforce safety regulations and clamp down on school vehicle overloading.

To school proprietors, headteachers, and drivers: our children are not cargo. They are the future of Uganda. Take full responsibility for their safety. No convenience is worth a child’s life. Let’s choose safety, always.

Global fuel prices continue to trend downward following recent diplomatic progress between the United States and Iran, while the Uganda Shilling has strengthened against the US Dollar, with the exchange rate improving from about UGX 3,800 to UGX 3,600 per dollar. These developments significantly reduce the cost of importing petroleum products. In light of these favorable market conditions, petroleum companies operating in Uganda should pass on the benefits to consumers through lower pump prices. Ugandans deserve timely and fair price adjustments that reflect global realities. Pump prices should be reviewed and reduced within the next month to ease the cost of living.@R_Nabbanja

Mr. Andile Ramaphosa and his team paid me a courtesy call this afternoon at Nakasero State Lodge. They presented proposals for collaboration with NAGRC and the Regional Service Centre Initiative at Namunkekera Farm aimed at strengthening the regulated breeding, harvesting and export of Ankole cattle genetics to the SADC region and beyond.

They also shared a proposal to establish a B.O.T. laboratory to help address the challenge of counterfeit agro-inputs in the country. I welcome these ideas, I thank them for their initiative. The Government will study the proposals and support initiatives that advance Uganda’s socio-economic transformation.

Thank you, Titan Industries, for providing over 350 jobs to our young people, both skilled and non-skilled, and for making a significant contribution to Uganda's economic growth and development.

This afternoon, I toured Titan Industries, a company founded by my good friends and a leading manufacturer of premium construction materials, tools, hardware, and safety solutions in Uganda.

I congratulate the management and staff for their remarkable contribution to Uganda's industrial transformation. What began as Max Hardware & Tools Limited in Nabugabo has grown into a thriving manufacturing enterprise that has transitioned from importing products to producing them locally, successfully substituting imports with high-quality Ugandan-made products.

They have heeded President @KagutaMuseveni's call for industrialization by investing in local manufacturing, creating jobs, building skills, and adding value to products made in Uganda. Their success is a testament to the power of vision, innovation, hard work, and patriotism.

Thank you for contributing to Uganda's prosperity and for inspiring other Ugandan businesses to embrace value addition and industrial development.

Regarding this Parliament, I have been patient before, but this term there will be no room for leaders who seek titles without helping the people they lead. I am directing NRM leaders to return to the parishes and ensure that existing government programmes are lifting people out of poverty. I do not want to hear excuses about poverty while solutions already exist. Ministers and government officials who fail in this responsibility will be held accountable. This is Kisanja no sleep . Regarding #Uganda, the Ministry of Health has not been engaged on the establishment of the treatment centres referred to here, and we are therefore not aware of where they may have been set up within the country.

We continue to affirm that Uganda has so far registered only two imported Ebola cases: one fatality and one patient currently responding well to treatment under close medical care. There are no local infections and the country remains safe.

Today, I met H.E. Mr. Losang Jamcan, the Rt. Hon. Deputy Speaker and Special Envoy of President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China, who represented him at my swearing-in ceremony.

I thanked President Xi Jinping and the people of China for the strong and historic friendship between our two countries. Uganda values China's decision to open its market to our products under the zero-tariff arrangement, which will boost trade and investment opportunities for our people.

We also discussed the need for dialogue and peaceful solutions to international conflicts instead of force and confrontation. Uganda and China have continued to enjoy cordial relations for about 70 years now , rooted in mutual respect and cooperation.

In the spirit of unity, cohesion, and mature party politics, I am delighted to join my brother, Hon. Calvin Echodu, MP Soroti City West and vice chairman NRM Eastern at his dinner gathering this evening at Silver Springs Hotel. Moments like these remind us that leadership is not only about competition, but also about building bridges, fostering understanding, and strengthening the bonds that unite us as one people with a shared vision for progress.

As leaders, we must continue to embrace dialogue, mutual respect, and collaboration for the greater good of our communities and our nation. Political maturity calls upon us to rise above divisions and focus on what truly matters service to the people, development, peace, and national transformation.

I commend Hon. Calvin Echodu for this thoughtful initiative that brings together colleagues, friends, and well-wishers in an atmosphere of friendship and solidarity. Such engagements are important in nurturing trust, harmony, and collective responsibility among leaders.
