Dear friends, great news 💫💫💫 – we’ve integrated the $TON blockchain into our project and are ready to detect multi-accounts.

While observing projects on the voting platform https://t.co/thifAawelg (https://t.co/6UnEqZ7NoS), we identified multi-accounts that artificially inflated vote counts and impacted the voting process in several projects. In one of the projects, we analyzed about 1,000 participants and collected 43,000 interaction addresses from them. Resulting in the identification of 10 large major multi-account clusters 🦹‍♂️.

The Great Twitter Sybil Psyops

A Sybil/ToS violator with 30k fake followers posts, “CoinList froze my account.”

This could be true or false. We have no way to verify it, only their word.

Why would their account be frozen?

1. They can't pass re-KYC because they are not the legitimate account owner. They are likely a Sybil or part of an account-buying or account-farming group.

2. They violated our ToS, such as engaging in suspicious activity or raising security concerns.

3. They are "bad" or suspicious actors, requiring us to comply with regulations that CoinList must follow. This situation is challenging to communicate about because we can't disclose details without potentially violating laws.
4. A mistake on our end. This accounts for less than 1% of cases. We are continuously working to reduce this number and always re-evaluate accounts to identify any errors. In a system with tens of millions of accounts, even less than 1% translates to tens of thousands of people.

Let's be clear: having your money frozen is traumatic for anyone, even for a short time!

Next, "no response from CoinList."

Our customer service team is small but effective, and we are constantly improving. How might someone encounter issues?

If someone violates points 1 and 3 above, we literally cannot help them (or in some instances even respond to them). We use complex and large datasets to make decisions about our users. The key is that in MOST cases, you still hold your funds as long as you can re-KYC and prove that you are the legitimate account owner. If you can't do that, we can't take the risk, as it could result in massive fines or, in the most extreme cases, jail time.

The number I’m most proud of at CoinList is that we’ve offboarded over 2 million accounts. This would hurt any business from a revenue perspective, as Sybils are great for pumping numbers and money (check their accounts on other exchanges), but it’s not the type of business we aim to run. We want to be here for the long run and onboard real, high-quality people to the Builders we support.

We want the real "Ruslan," not "Ruslan002.eth, Ruslan003.eth, Ruslan004.eth, Ruslan005.eth..." Believe me, we have seen a lot of "Ruslan" at CoinList, and we are fighting against this.

But the great Twitter Sybil psyops will always be more visible because on twitter you'll mostly only see the upset, offboarded accounts like the ones shown in the on-chain screenshots below. Glad to see LZ join the fight and wishing Bryan the best.

We've prepared and published a report in Sybil Bounty Hunting Submissions. We identified around 5k sybils across 181 clusters, out of approximately 248k addresses checked at the time of the report preparation.

Another great catch from our analysts. How many projects can be abused with one account? - All the best and most relevant. The account collected drops from Polyhedra ($ZK), AltLayer ($ALT), Arkham ($ARKM), Smart Layer ($SLN) and participated in Starknet ($STRK).
