ASD faces a deficit too of $110M. The school board looks to the state for increased funding but what if the state cannot afford the increase? My answer is Anchorage must decrease our spending in areas that don’t contribute our mission of delivering quality education with results.

Alaska faces a $200M deficit this year. Proposed $1,000 BSA increase may add $275M. Reinstating defined benefits could cost more. The PFD as low as 25% for residents and we are low on reserves. What do we do? We must cut spending to avoid financial turmoil. Vote by April 1st!
