Cold start paid off with great sunny day again @FieldaysNZ. See us at @MPI_NZ stand in the Innovation Hub to hear more about Greengrower vertical farms, and grab a bag of our ready-to-eat (no washing needed, no pesticides used) salad mix.
📸 Today is #naturephotographyday. We’re big fans of all things nature here at MAF Digital Lab so take a scroll through your photo app and show us your favourite nature pic you’ve taken recently!
We’ll start with this beauty - Mt Ruapehu’s Crater Lake captured in Autumn 2023 👇

Another day, another incredible view sighted in the name of research.
An aerial hyperspectral survey of avocado and kiwifruit orchards for @planttech_rri also produced this beautiful image of Matapihi in Tauranga harbour. We enjoyed it so much, we thought you might too!
📢 Introducing PhD Student Dan Sturgess. From Bristol, UK, but Dan is happy to call NZ and MAF home for now
Dan completed his BSc at @KeeleUniversity, his MSc in Volcanology at @BristolUni. A bit of a volcano-head, he is now working towards his PhD in Volcanology at @MasseyUni
Breaking new ground!
Last week work started digging out the footprint for four containers which will be modified to become fully controlled growth rooms. An awesome asset for the @Greengrower facility at @AgResearchNEWS Palmerston North. We can’t wait to see it done!
🛩️Taking science to new heights!
A recent research trip produced some incredible images of the beautiful Whakaari - White Island. The purpose of the flight was to collect hyperspectral and RGB data for a doctoral research project undertaken at @MasseyUni
The Greengrower R&D facility here hosted by GRC AgResearch (PNth) has seen some great progress today.. Four 20ft reefers were put in place, and these will act as fully controlled growth rooms as the core of our R&D facility. @MAF_Digital_Lab@MasseyUni https://t.co/soHLd9DVgN
It’s Learn about Composting Day. To celebrate we’ve collected some composting facts to fertilise your brain:
