The Manitoba Association of Health Care Professionals (MAHCP) is a union of approximately 7,000 members. We represent more than 190 Allied Health disciplines.
We, incl. our members in @MGEUnion@MAHCP_MB, echo the call of the families, Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, Assembly of First Nations, and organizers for a search of the Prairie Green & Brady Road landfills. https://t.co/SYUo9xOu8g
@mcmack84 We don't agree with Shared Health's rosy spin. There are still significant monetary and non-monetary issues to be negotiated. Strike prep continues. We'll see how this week goes at the table.
Early this morning, MAHCP began to make more significant monetary advances, including an agreement in principle on major monetary items.
However, a strike has been postponed, not averted. We will see how this week goes. Strike prep will continue.

MHC provincial director Thomas Linner spoke to Richard Cloutier and Julie Buckingham with CJOB yesterday about the province's Surgical and Diagnostic Recovery Task Force, and the problem with putting private profit ahead of public health care.

Over 40 different disciplines. 6500 members. 5+ (and some 6+) years without a contract.
A week until our strike deadline. We need a deal now.
#alliedhealth#newdealnow
MNU is standing in solidarity with MAHCP, who have issued a strike notice. After five (and in some cases six) years without a contract, it's time for the government to fix the staffing crisis and negotiate a fair contract. Stay strong, brother and sisters! ✊✊✊✊✊❤️ @MAHCP_MB
We congratulate @MGEUnion on reaching a tentative deal for their members.
We currently find ourselves in a different situation, as our members needs are diverse, and we will continue to negotiate for an agreement that addresses the complex needs of allied health. #solidarity
Shared Health has misrepresented the state of bargaining. The two parties are still far apart on a number of significant issues. MAHCP remains committed to negotiating a fair, competitive contract before the strike deadline. That is, if the employer and government are willing.
Shared Health continues to work on behalf of health system employers toward the conclusion of a new, fair & long-term collective agreements for professional/technical/paramedical workers represented by MAHCP & the other representative union in this sector. https://t.co/8n0KDhXDpA
We thank all of the allied health professionals and dedicated health care staff who leapt into action at HSC to help the 18 people involved in this incident yesterday. Our hearts go out to all the families affected.
Retweeting in solidarity with MAHCP. You work is invaluable and you deserve the respect of a working contract. Thanks for what you do for your patients and our system!

5+ years without a contract, through a pandemic, & a year+ of bargaining - we filed our strike notice today. Job action to begin 8 a.m. - June 15 unless an agreement is reached. The countdown is on.
This has gone on far too long. Allied health is done waiting. #newcontractnow
MHC provincial director @tmlinner joined @MAHCP_MB President Jason Linklater and sleep doctor Dr. Nancy Porhownik to call on the provincial government to stop putting private profit over patient care and public healthcare solutions.
