We are messed up, especially on this thing called love, romantic love in particular. The issue is not social media and content creators who inflate romance and pressure us to do grand gestures for Valentines. They are a just a reflection of us, the society

and the reason is because as a society, we have lost the art of love. Romance wasn't the penultimate aim of love, it is just a conglomerate of the other forms of love and as a society, we forgot all other loves and only remained with this form

Hence, only romantic love is what people put all the burden to satisfy all these facets of their life which are underdeveloped. Hence the rise of over-fixation with Valentines.

The problem with love these days, the society has broken down to the extent that only romantic love is what people remain with. Family love, friendships are non-existent; colleagues don't cut it these days; people are not going to social gatherings and neighbours are nonexistent
