@FionaBlythUK is an ambassador for the UK in every sense. Intelligent, charming and fun. She was a brilliant guest at @citylit and proud that she’s representing our country.
A real pleasure to be paid a visit from @FionaBlythUK, the Ambassador to Mongolia.
She sat down with City Lit Principal @MarkMalcomson to discuss her career and what Mongolia is like as a country.
It's fair to say many in the audience checked flights to Ulaanbaatar afterwards!
I am grateful to UNSG @antonioguterres for this opportunity to serve.
I will defend the humanitarian community, humanitarian values, and the people we serve.

It’s been 63 years since suicide was decriminalised in the UK. But so many of us still use the term ‘commit suicide’.
Why does it matter? Language that links suicide and crime can increase stigma and prevent people struggling with suicidal thoughts from speaking out.
If we choose language like ‘died by suicide’ or ‘took their own life’ we allow space for open conversations and compassion. Let’s choose our words carefully.
