Recount starts for the Democratic primary for #ma3 today in Methuen.

Now the 3rd and final town recounting in #ma3 tomorrow is the election-night problem-child, Ashburnham. The town was overwhelmingly Koh; where he netted +86 (170 v 84.) I don't have Ashburnham undervotes, but if it's consistent with the rest of the district, Koh likely adds 1.

Berlin is a small town in the western part of #ma3. It was heavy Rufus territory, he secured 119/433 (27.5%.) Dan did beat Lori here as well, netting 6 votes (75 v. 69). With only 11 blanks (2.5%), Koh might be able to net +1 in Berlin.

A majority of the 1,100 blank Lowell #ma3 votes will be found to be a legitimate vote- and if election night returns are an indicator- that's a great thing for @LoriUSCongress. However- to have that amount of voters incorrectly fill out the ballot in one municipality is alarming.

The 1,100 "blank" votes in the Lowell #ma3 primary is concerning. While it is likely some voters incorrectly filled out the ballot- to have 11% of ballots filled out wrong is grossly inconsistent with the district trend, and completely not in line with historical trends. #mapoli

Bill Galvin announces the #ma3 recount will commence- and must be completed by September 17th. Simultaneously, Galvin announces his intent to take the election offices in Lawrence and Lowell under his direct authority. #mapoli

It is insane that ANY Democrat in #ma3 would object to @dank requesting a recount. 52/85,000 votes necessitates a recount to ensure confidence in the nominee. @LoriUSCongress's "unity" event only serves to alienate. The only fracture in the party will be because of Lori. #mapoli

A little surprised at the #ma3 Twitter silence from the Koh camp. Koh had an exceptionally large and active Twitter base. Trahan was always noticeably absent from social media- so it's not surprising her team remains silent.

Koh didn't need to win ANYWHERE. He just needed a strong second EVERYWHERE. And he campaigned like that- except in Lowell. His performance in Lowell will be the reason he loses this race.

Everyone had their own path to victory in #ma3, and they all followed the same general principle: run it up on one city/region and compete for 2nd/3rd everywhere else. Matias had Lawrence, Gifford had Fitchburg, Trahan had Lowell, L'Italien had Andover. #mapoli

Finally, there's Dan Koh. He is the only candidate to run district wide. And it appears he will come up just short. The BIGGEST loss for Koh is Lowell. If there was any mistake the Koh team made was bypassing Lowell. Trahan's margin of victory there was 2k+
