Matabeleland South’s new five-year development plan must go beyond ambitious targets.
Provincial affairs and devolution minister Albert Nguluvhe says clear mechanisms to track implementation and hold institutions accountable are needed to ensure PEDP2 delivers.

The plan, covering 2026–2030, targets growing the province’s economy to -US$3.485 billion and GDP per capita to US$4,200 by 2030.

THANK YOU!

What a journey. What a weekend. What a city.

To every single person who walked through our gates, every artist who gave us their heart on stage, every sponsor and partner who believed in the vision, every supplier, crew member, security team, government department and stakeholder who worked behind the scenes, thank you for making Jacaranda Music Festival 2026 unforgettable.

For nine years, we’ve watched Jacaranda grow, evolve and become something bigger than any one of us. It belongs to the music, the people and the city.

And now… we turn the page.

Next year, Jacaranda turns 10

A full decade of music.
A decade of memories.
A decade of bringing people together.

2027 will be our 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION — and trust us, we intend to celebrate properly.

Thank you, Harare. Thank you, Zimbabwe.

See you at 10. 💜

A few days ago, we participated in the inception meeting for the Citizen Engagement for Responsive and Accountable Governance (CERAG) project in Bulawayo, bringing together civil society, residents and local stakeholders to reflect on citizen participation and accountability in local governance.

One issue that stood out was the need to make public information more accessible. Residents highlighted how technical language, limited access to budget information ahead of consultations and inadequate information dissemination can make it difficult for communities to participate meaningfully in local decision-making processes.

The conversations also highlighted the importance of documenting community concerns, generating evidence and creating spaces where residents can engage local authorities on issues affecting service delivery and the management of public resources.

As an organisation, we value opportunities to contribute to conversations that strengthen citizen participation, access to information and social accountability, particularly by ensuring that the experiences and perspectives of communities are part of the evidence shaping these processes.
