Staring at his reflection in the mirror was extremely trippy because the person staring back at him wasn’t him. Did that even make sense? No, of course it didn’t. Nothing made sense anymore. That was his life after kids. Everything was just a fairytale, a dream, and something that was out of character for him. His children literally became his reason for breathing and getting up in the mornings, taking over his waking and sleeping moments, Porsche wouldn’t change any of it.

He would, however, change his mind about agreeing to this fashion show.

He let out a slow breath as he felt hands finish up the strings that cinched the outfit to his already tiny waist, accentuated further with a tight bodice that was making oxygen a valued commodity. Porsche inwardly wept and pitied the women of the time having to constantly parade around in outfits like this on a daily.

Not that he’d subjugated his daughter to anything she didn’t like, she would be raised a modern-day woman, independent thinking, and powerfully beautiful. A warrior woman.

Today…she wanted to be a princess.

Today…she wanted him to be a princess too.

He blamed Kinn for showing her the photograph of him dressed as a mermaid. It was during their ‘I hate you; I hate you more’ days and Porsche was certain Kinn wanted to torment him further if he could if Big hadn’t interrupted them. A faint smile on his features of the old bodyguard’s memory, always honored through the man’s family and annual memorial; Porsche cleared his throat as he could hear Big’s voice say “You’re not even breedable Porsche…” oh how Big would’ve swallowed those words today seeing Danupol and Inthurat.

“What’re you thinking about Porsche?”

Snorting at the voice behind him, he opened his eyes that he hadn’t realized fluttered closed in nostalgia, and contained his laughter, “I’m sorry. Of all the princesses…you picked Snow White?”

Arm let out a loud sigh, shoulders sagged as he shook his head, “I didn’t pick it. Inthurat did! I wanted Sleeping beauty…”

“It’s because you wanted to play with the long, golden blonde hair?”

“Yes!” The guard, turned best friend, turned uncle to the kids, turned Porsche’s right-hand man, was not fairing any better to his outfit of choice for their outing today. “I told Tankhun if I had to dress up that I wanted to at least get golden blond hair. So, no one would…recognize me.”

Bursting out fully in laughter, Porsche shook his head and gathered to his feet and wobbled a little with the shoes clasped to his feet, grumbled that he couldn’t get it together. The heels weren’t even that high! How did women, drag queens, or general divas function in these kind of shoes? It seemed like a pain in the ass! “I hate these shoes.”

“Porsche, you couldn’t be Ariel and wearing converse. It doesn’t fit like the aesthetic. You go big or go home, man. Why do you think I have this wig on even if I have short hair?”

“Why the fuck not? I’d be a kick ass modern version of Ariel,” Porsche’s chest puffed out as if showing that he could be anything and anyone he wanted to be. His hands flailed about in emphasizes as he lifted the hem of the dress, lifted a leg to kick out and fell back with a shout, right on his ass. The groan of pain, the red hair in his face, Porsche was over it already. Again. Questioning his children and Kinn = never. Questioning dressing up as a Disney princess = immediately. “I don’t even know why I couldn’t be …Moana or something.”

“Because you’re her little mermaid, Porsche. And Kinn’s,” Arm ignored Porsche’s perturbed face and the middle finger flip off, grabbed his friend’s outstretched hand to pull firmly and adjust all of the ruffles and pieces that went flying with Porsche’s action. “You look really pretty.” His fingers adjusted the strands of red curls back into place, nodding his head approvingly at the look, his friend really just looked gorgeous.

“I’m not pretty, I’m handsome.”

“Porsche. You’re pretty, you’re handsome, you’re beautiful,” The guard saw the surprised look on his friend’s face and continued, “Beauty isn’t just for women. Remember we can be pretty too. And besides, you’re going to knock Kinn off his feet in this look.”

Porsche snorted, “He’s going to take pictures and mock the fuck out of me dressed like this…” He looked like he was in despair, then something hit him, and he stood his shoulders back, “You know what…you’re right.”

“Huh?”

“My baby girl asked me to dress like a princess with her. Why am I resisting?”

“Because you’re stubborn as hell and want to be spoiled?” Arm said with an innocent glance, “Kinn is going to take pictures…and probably gatekeep them forever. Trust me. Teasing and mocking won’t be in his cards. I can take a baton to his knees for you if he does?” He looked dead serious.

The minor head actually looked flattered, “You’d risk death for me, Arm?”

“…I wouldn’t be your best friend and bodyguard if I didn’t Porsche – oof!” The guard caught his friend around the waist in a bear hug, both continuing to laugh at their predicament and attempting to not smudge make up or mess up their wigs again but knew one day of this would be a lifetime memory of happiness for Danupol and Inthurat. How could either of them refuse?

“Paaaaaa!”

“Inthurat be careful!” Kinn could be heard yelling after his vicarious daughter, having had to pause to help adjust Danupol’s pants that were riding up on his leg, crouching to adjust it and back to where she was running to. Signaling the guards to follow her immediately, sharp gaze to them and soft to his son in front of him.

The little girl running towards him immediately blew away any inhibitions that Porsche had about being dressed like this. She was dressed in yellow, toddling around in a Belle dress, falling when she tripped on her wobbly legs before she hauled herself up to finish the cross through the hotel lobby to land in front of her Papa. Inthurat’s tiny hands grabbed onto the turquoise fabric of Porsche’s gown and looked up with wide golden eyes, “Paaaa!”

“Hello sunshine of my life. I’m surprised you recognized me like this,” Porsche laughed, crouching to scoop her into his arms securely as her hands went to immediately reach for the rouge wig and he shook his head, “Inthurat, you’re going to pull it off, baby. Behave for a minute.” He noticed her tiny crown become lopsided and adjusted it as he let out a content sigh at holding his treasure of two years, “You look so adorable. I wish I dressed you myself…” A click of his tongue in minor disappointment.

Tankhun chimed in as he walked off the elevator with Pol behind him, “Porsche, if you spent too much time fixing up Tutu, you would’ve gotten cold feet dressing up as Ariel. A risk we couldn’t take! I get dressed in two minutes.” He was Sleeping Beauty as Pol was Cinderella.

“No, I wouldn’t,” Porsche scoffed as he felt Inthurat just patting against his cheeks in excitement at matching…of sorts…and raised an eyebrow to Tankhun, “You didn’t let Arm dress as Sleeping Beauty because you wanted it?”

“Naturally.”

Arm looked offended, “Hey! You said that Inthurat picked Snow White for me specifically, now you’re saying you tricked me?!” the look from Tankhun had him clearing his throat and dipping his head in a bowed head, “I mean…you look very nice, Khun Tankhun.”

Laughing at the interaction between his brother-in-law and best friend, Porsche was distracted when a pair of lips came to press a firm kiss to his cheek, making him snap his head to stare directly into Kinn’s eyes and he blinked, “You snuck up on me.”

“I was here the whole time…” Kinn murmured as he got an eyeful of Porsche’s attire and fell in love all over again. Who knew that he’d like Porsche with red hair? He knew it was a wig, but his husband just worked it. When they made the announcement that they were visiting Disneyland Hong Kong for a small family vacation, sponsored by the children’s adopted grandfather Lei Wang, it seemed to trigger a series of events that included nonstop shopping with Tankhun for the kids to have costumes of every character of their dreams, costumes for them (which initially Porsche and him had refused), and of course, plenty of photo opportunities. Now that they’d made it and Inthurat batted her eyes at them at the dinner table the night before along with Danupol’s chanting of “Pwincess Ewic and Awiel!” he and Porsche were cornered. It didn’t help he’d shown the kids the image of his husband as a mermaid, the recent movie marathon they’d had, it was such a fresh aspect for them. “You look…”

“Ridiculous?”

“Breathtaking, Porsche,” Kinn was proud to see the flush against Porsche’s neck trickle, leaned to drag his lips against the goosebump caramel skin as if completely mesmerized by the magical element that was his husband in drag basically. Then a firm smooch to a bare shoulder since Porsche’s dress fell off of the shoulders, Kinn already knew he was going to be distracted all damn day. Worth it. He had taken Danupol to get dressed after breakfast: himself as Prince Eric, Danupol as the Beast while Arm dragged Porsche to get ready with feigned kicking and screaming, Tankhun handled Inthurat, and all of them in the lobby was garnering attention from everyone in the hotel. The whispers and bodyguards starting to create a circle. His hand immediately settled around Porsche’s waist as he offered his hand to Danupol to take as the boy had gone to gush over Arm’s outfit before sticking to his family. He watched when Pol shuffled to them, “What is it?” He was immediately in defensive mode. One bad word, he’d wreck everyone in the building.

“…Khun Kinn…”

“Spit it out Pol.”

Pol just rubbed his sweaty palms against his blue dress nervously then saw Porsche’s reassuring look and finished, “There’s people who wants to take a picture with you and Khun Porsche.”

“Why?”

“They think you two are the actual Princess Ariel and Prince Eric characters…they wanted to take pictures with you two…” Pol shook his head, “We told them to continue on because you two weren’t taking pictures but that’s what the commotion was.”

Porsche laughed, clearly entertained that he and his husband fooled people about who they were then shook his head, “Are we going to survive in the Park if they’re like this here? Seems we’re pretty convincing, Kinn.”

“Never doubted, baby. We’re always on point with everything we do,” Kinn’s smile pulled at his lips, curled up as he was amused now and realized it was harmless attention; he couldn’t blame anyone. His family was stunning, and he puffed his chest out in pride, “Let’s go and test our luck.” He peeked at Porsche’s shoes as his own boots were a little elevated to give them a better height difference. “You didn’t want Converse?”

“That’s what I said!” Porsche glared at Arm as he swayed with Inthurat in his arms as she just laid her head against his shoulder, always content to be close to her Papa. “He said I’d look weird.”

“Just for a few hours?” Kinn removed his arm in order to offer his elbow instead, “Let me escort two beautiful princesses.”

Porsche deadpanned, “You’re lucky that I’m carrying Tutu…”

“She’s my lucky charm,” Kinn leaned over to kiss her forehead to earn himself a giggle, held Danu’s hand securely, and whistled to the other knuckleheads arguing about who was really supposed to be Sleeping Beauty, and he jerked his head, “We’re burning daylight.”

After the picture pose the four of them made with their hands folded in heart shapes, Porsche nudged at Arm who was next to him, “Hey man don’t think I didn’t see you suffering in those shoes and swaying. If I suffer, you suffer.” He poked his friend’s cheek as he turned around after Kinn confirmed taking the picture that was Pol, Tankhun, Porsche, and Arm.

“Princess bodyguards. Perfect.”

“Shut up Kinn!” Porsche walked over to his husband to frame the taller’s face in his hands to glare intimidatingly but melted at seeing Kinn’s lighthearted expression that he couldn’t help but melt. Kinn was always handsome when he was relaxed, stress-free, and just enjoyed the moment with them. He hummed when he saw Kinn just puckered his lips and rolled his eyes, “I don’t know why I should reward you teasing me.”

“Because gave up being an underwater princess to be with her land prince?”

Kinn batted his eyes after pocketing his phone. They’d gone around to the castle with their VIP service and exclusive tour since he never compromised his family’s safety, even for fun, and now was a break period with the kids napping in their strollers. They hit up most of the rides, took a couple of pictures with some characters that didn’t scare Inthurat or Danupol, watched two parades where Kinn was dragged to dance in the crowd with Danupol as guest princes (Porsche recorded it, all smiles), and they were waiting for the kids to wake up to carry on. He could see that despite Porsche being a little skeptical to dress up as a princess, his husband was twirling and spinning around like he was a natural born royal.

“That was Ariel. That’s not me, Kinn.”

The elder’s hands went to nestle into the groove of Porsche’s waist, thumbs rubbed the smooth fabric and then lifted one hand to cup Porsche’s cheek as well, thumb brushed the sparkling make up as he smiled, “Because you gave me everything I could ever wish for, and I selfishly want to kiss you till the end of our story together?”

“That sounds depressing, Kinn.”

“Will you stay by my side regardless, Porsche?”

“Always.” Porsche didn’t skip a beat in answering, leaned in with a tilt of his head to peck at Kinn’s lips, let his long fingers trace down his husband’s neck to curl into the white lapel of the man’s jacket to pull firmly into an adoring kiss. It was like pouring all of himself into it.

“Can you two tone it down? We’re in Disneyland,” Tankhun pretended to gag though was amused since no one was in their area. Bodyguards tended to scare everyone away from their proximity. He flopped down on a bench to fan himself and ushered the other two to join him as he took multiple selfies, then told Pol to take pictures of just him and Arm, and it cycled. “Control yourselves for a honeymoon Eric and Ariel.”

“You’re jealous your prince didn’t come to wake you up,” Snickering as he pressed into Kinn’s arms, the security of a man that would adore him through a lot of things, including Porsche’s shortcomings and vice versa, Porsche smiled, “It’s because you never actually sit still Khun.”

Tankhun waved nonchalantly, “Someday my prince will come. You’ll see!”

Arm rolled his eyes as he pulled out his mini tablet to see that they had booked some character experiences and walked over to Porsche or tried to with a wince in his step from the shoes; again, just doing this for the two that had his heart since they were born, and pointed, “We have to keep moving on schedule.”

“Even on vacation, Arm’s all work mode,” Kinn brushed his lips to Porsche’s temple to sprinkle kisses as his words were muffled, “Fine. Lead on.” He saluted to ‘Snow White’ and motioned to the strollers, “Can you handle the kids’ stroller for a minute? I don’t want to let Porsche go just yet…”

“Count on me Khun Kinn,” The bodyguard just nodded seriously as he gained a pep in his step, grabbed the handle for the stroller as he pushed ahead. Pol followed Tankhun, basically dragging the eldest brother when the other lagged. Leaving Kinn and Porsche to bring up the rear.

Porsche looked at Kinn with a broad smile when his husband offered a hand, “Escorting me again?”

“All day, every day. My heart,” Kinn stated as he felt Porsche place his hand into his own; delicately as a flower, lifted to press a kiss to the knuckles and they weren’t aware that now that they were left alone, others in the park was watching them. A real-life couple entirely enthralled with one another like any fairytale’s happy ending. Yes, they had their problems and always had moments of discord; but in the end, it was always going to be Porsche that made it worth it and vice versa. Kinn knew that Porsche wasn’t as expressive and somehow was the most passionate between them. He twirled the other man out and watched the green dress spin like green fire sprinkled with dazzling diamonds, alluring and beautiful, then pulled Porsche back to his side. “The key to heaven…” He started to sing.

“…Is love…” Porsche finished the song with a wide smile that overtook every part of his face, his heart, and soul. He’d never believe his happiness was after the pain he’d gone through. Even if he was dressed as a princess, he never felt like a pauper with Kinn. “My heart has wings…and I can fly…”

“…I’ll touch every star in the sky…” They joined their voices, not really caring how they sounded together. It wasn’t even a Little Mermaid song! It was Cinderella’s. They walked hand-in-hand through the tunnel underneath the castle.

Kinn alternated between twirling Porsche, dipping him, kissing him; and their ‘audience’ only cooing at them delightfully.

“Danupol, how do you treat a fair princess?” Kinn stated as they were taking pictures with the Frozen sisters, both charmed by the boy who bowed to them. He was proud his four-year-old knew how to conduct himself. “They’re waiting to take a picture with you.”

Danupol had woken up with his sister when they got to the experience, blinked at the women, and clapped his hands together, “Can I take a pictuwe pwease?”

“Of course, good prince,” Elsa laughed flightily and then Anna ushered him to stand between them. They smiled for the picture and peeked over to Porsche who was carrying Inthurat, “Do we spy two more princesses?”

Danupol puffed out his chest, much like Kinn did on a daily, “Yeah! That’s my sissy Tutu and my Papa!” He pointed to them, “They are vewy pwetty!” He spoke with certainty that no one else would match in his eyes. Then thought it was rude to say then and blinked, “Sowie. You both are pwetty too!”

The girls just smiled at his clarification. Elsa opened her hand, “Can we join this lovely prince in a picture then? Like snowflakes, we call come in different shapes and sizes, all unique and awe inspiring!”

Porsche softened as he had been nervous since he didn’t join in clearly being a man and Inthurat only wanted pictures with all of them, with him only, or Danupol, or Kinn, no one else. He smiled to Inthurat, “We ready?”

Inthurat perked up and giggled, reaching for her brother as her Papa carried her over to be set on the floor, standing next to Danupol, catching his hand immediately, “Pwee?!”

“Pwetty Tutu, Pwetty Papa, Pwetty Elsa and Anna!” Danupol broke up everyone individually and held his sister’s hand with a wide dimpled smile as he waved to his Daddy, “Daddy take pictuwe!”

Anna shifted to let Porsche stand in the middle and nod, “You outshine us both princess Ariel.”

Porsche laughed, “Hardly…” he shook his head, a little shy over this, but the smile on his face because they took him and his children was caught in a picture that Kinn would immediately turn into his phone wallpaper, “Thank you Queen Anna and Elsa. I’m humbled.”

A few more picture and the women waved goodbye to the family as they left the photo area, sighing to themselves, “Wish we really did look that good.”

“They’re cute…” Anna smiled.

Elsa smiled back, “Super cute.”

The Theerapanyakuns were shuffled to a front spot to watch the fireworks show. Porsche and Kinn had changed into comfortable white suits, so they still looked ‘royal like’ while carrying Danupol and Kinn was carrying Inthurat. Tankhun hung with Arm and Pol, genuinely enjoyed his bodyguards’ company.

“Danu don’t sleep yet, you have to watch,” Porsche nuzzled his nose into Danu’s hair as he could tell his son was getting sleepy again.

“Papa, it’s dawk…”

“It’s supposed to be so you can see the show,” The elder laughed and bounced Danupol then plopped him on his shoulders, “Stay awake, baby.”

Danupol’s hands held onto Porsche’s hair and nodded, “Yeah!”

“How is Inthurat so energetic?” Kinn carried his toddler that was just bouncing up and down by herself, completely on a sugar rush from the ice cream earlier. He shook his head as he settled his hand against Porsche’s lower back, “Did you have a good day, my heart?”

“Literally the best, Kinn,” Porsche stepped closer into his husband’s embrace in time to watch the sky light up with fireworks. All of them were in awe and looked at the brightness. The music that played went in tune with movies that spoke of romance, true love, and first kisses. Something he’d never experienced till meeting Kinn. Their story was messy but perfect for them. Holding Danu’s legs, he flopped his head against Kinn’s shoulder, “Be my prince forever.”

“If you’ll be mine,” The elder commented, both looked to each other and shared another kiss as the last of the fireworks exploded across the sky. Kinn just nuzzled Inthurat as she screamed happily, kicking and flailing, letting out a deep breath. “I’ll have to thank Lei.”

“We’ll bring him along next time?”

“Perfect idea, baby.” Kinn nodded and knew this truly was love.
