Loren Legarda is lying through her teeth and gaslighting everyone.

The New Majority-12 did NOT elect a Senate President.

They declared all positions vacant with a quorum of 12 legally backed up by the Senate Rules, the Constitution, SC jurisprudence, and Senate practice.

Why should Legarda know this?

It’s because in May 2015 when three (3) of their fellow Senators were arrested for plunder and she was abroad on an official trip, they used a quorum of 12 out of 17 available Senators to conduct business.

Guess who was one of the Senators in 2015?

Yep, Loren Legarda. Along with Alan Peter Cayetano and Pia Cayetano. Resibo below. 👇

And not one of them objected or claimed the session was unconstitutional. Not one of them filed a case before the Supreme Court.

Watched a few of Gen. Aplasca's interviews and something caught my attention more than once.

He kept saying that in "law enforcement", what he did was in line with his training. He hammered on the fact na he is doing his job as someone from the law enforcement. He said that "in law enforcement", kapag hindi nagbaba yung sinabihan nilang magbaba ng baril, they fire a warning shot. AND THAT IS WHERE THE PROBLEM LIES.

OSAA is not a law enforcement body of the Philippines. They are the security arm of the Senate. Sure, they maintain peace inside the Senate premises, but they are not law enforcers unlike the PNP or the NBI. OMB Remulla was correct in pointing out na why would you demand an NBI agent, a member of a law enforcement body of the Philippines, to put their gun down when you do not have the right to do so.

In fact, in Atty. Matibag's interview with @IanEsguerra, he said that the agent's reaction to Aplasca's demand was a simple "Bakit ako ang magbababa eh NBI ako?". The denial made Aplasca fire the warning shot instead of a proper conversation first.

The man seems to think na he is still in law enforcement and is thinking like one--whether unknowingly or sadya--when the reality is as simple as "hindi na".

He fired the warning shot simply because a law enforcer didn't follow him.

DECLINING GOV'T TRUST?

Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano asserted that the leadership change was driven by his predecessor's inadequate response to urgent national issues, specifically the energy and fuel crises and declining public trust.

In his Facebook Live on Saturday, he denied that the impeachment was the primary reason for the shakeup in the upper chamber, labeling the criticism as "propaganda."

With a vote of 13-9-2, Cayetano ousted Senator Vicente "Tito" Sotto III last Monday, May 11, 2026.
