The takehome on CAR-Ts is that it cures maybe 30% of lymphoma patients who would have died otherwise. They reprogram WBCs to attack it. Holy Grail now is to do that trick against pancreatic, lung, ovarian, and every other kind of cancer, but they're different. 40% chance.
Wow, thanks for still following me! I'm a Medscape oncology reporter now. Okay, the latest is that CAR-T is the magic bullet for cancer. I hope that's true, but give it a 40% chance. In the meantime you derms, don't trust that melanoma gene test!

Hey, if someone has a positive nasal swab and dies in NYC , they are counted as having died from COVID-19. NYC health dept. told me that today. Seems to be how we are doing it in the U.S. Raises legit questions about the numbers. @MDEdgeTweets

Down syndrome arthritis is more aggressive than JIA, but it often takes a year or more before it's diagnosed, and by then, kids are in a bad way. Routine musculoskeletal exams must be added to DS guidelines, says Dr. Jordan Jones #ACR2019@MDedgeRheum
Elevated adenosine deaminase 2 blood test 86% sensitive, 93% specific for MAS in systemic JIA, blowing other markers out of the water. Could be a game changer for the detection/treatment of JIA's nightmare complication. Thank you, Dr. Pui Lee! #ACR2019@MDedgeRheum

It probably makes more sense to use ambulatory blood pressure, instead of office pressure, to guide HTN treatment, but reimbursement is a problem in the U.S. One of many insights from #Hypertension19@AHAMeetings@MDedgeCardio@MDEdgeTweets
@Marina_Leiva_G @drjosflynn@AHAMeetings@MDedgeCardio@MDEdgeTweets treating based on 24 hour ambulatory blood pressure values, not the in-office values. the ambulatory pressures give a truer indication of patients real-world BP values.
