PICTORIAL: They sacrificed their lives and happiness for our freedom. Now, one is imprisoned and the other is exiled. Our freedom fighters—you are the true definition of HEROES. We can never repay you.
I pray God save you from our our enemy 🙏.
As we celebrate our heroes today! we can't forget to celebrate these brothers and sisters for not giving up✊ As We demand for their immediate release, We keep them in prayers so that justice prevail 🙏
WE CELEBRATE YOU ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS WHERE EVER YOU ARE ✊
The man you see here is @kizzabesigye1. During the 1981–1985 bush war, he served as the personal physician to rebel leader Gen Museveni after leaving his medical career in Kenya to join the NRM struggle.
Today, he has spent over 500 days in detention on charges that many of us his supporters consider politically motivated, countless bail applications have been denied which undermines human rights.
Whatever one’s political views, many of us Ugandans regard Dr. Besigye as one of the figures who has shaped Uganda’s political journey.
Such a hero, Dr. Besigye — give people their flowers while they are still alive. Happy Hero’s day Dr🙏
A former boda boda rider at MM Pub, Kabuusu, Lubaga, sold his bike (when he heard me say that coffee growing gave better returns than the motor bike) and started a three-acre farm in Bukomansimbi. His farm grew to 17 acres by the time I visited him. He lives decently by any account.
A well-looked after acre of coffee yields at least 800,000/- per month. #WorkAndProsper
This heroes' day i celebrate these brave Ugandans who are being persecuted for lawfully exercising their Constitutional rights.
Despite gross abuse of their rights to freedom and speedy trials, they have remained steadfast in fighting for a better Uganda.
