Also they don’t reference the difference between inference and model development. Inference is profitable. Token cost has dropped 90% each of the last 3-5 years and will continue to drop. Not to mention open source token cost. Wasted tokens from model errors will also improve.

The real risk is the economic advantage of new models has a shorter life span than everyone thought.
