As of September 8, I became a doctor! I am so thankful to God for passing my oral defense with no revisions--just one suggestion! Looking forward to where the Lord will take me next.
A5: Keep an open mind. Learn to explore new avenues and new ways to do things. I like learning about the things Ts are doing in their classroom, because it brings me beyond my little box of thought. #edtechchat
@alicekeeler "I want my kid to be in a class that's really challenging and has a lot of work." However, rigor means nothing if no one is learning anything.
@JimSullivanEDCO I like that. That's so true. You should preferably look for organizations that are aligned with your mission and vision. I believe this can be said for most things, but it is so vital. #edtechchat
A4 - When looking for partners for funding - I look for likeminded orgs or grants that align well with the purpose or mission of the project. That way, you're more likely to be funded! #edtechchat
A2. Maybe also show new technology has benefited other schools that are similar to yours. What may have worked for one school may not work for another. #edtechchat
A1. Funding a private school. So far, the expenses for everything have come out of a pocket. We look for good deals anywhere. We were able to buy some used computers from Computers for Classrooms I think. We got a SmartBoard from a thrift store, which was unexpected! #edtechchat
Tonight, I won my fourth #NaNoWriMo! It has been fun writing among juggling a plethora of other responsibilities, and I was able to write a novel that I will definitely need to edit later. Now to get back to the real world and work again. ๐
@ShabrenaDicker1@Ozobot@hourofcode @CasaLomaSchool I'm glad you were able to get out and learn more about edtech. It is very important that you be well-versed in this field, especially as tech becomes an important component in the classroom. However, don't just learn about tech; learn to use it with purpose in your classroom. ^^
@DickersonSarena@DrEddiesClass@Ozobot@hourofcode @CasaLomaSchool It looks like you had a lot of fun. Casa Loma, I hear is a really good school. The hour of code portion is really exciting portion, I hear. I'm not much of coder, because I only do it when I'm building websites.
@NaNoWordSprints I accidentally wrote 5 minutes over the time limit. I had 846, so I guess if I shave off maybe 200-250 words maybe around 500-600, I suppose.
November has been filled with a lot of writing, and I enjoy it! I actually enjoy writing essays for my new university. Writing for #NaNoWriMo has sparked my creativity. I need to get back to writing in Japanese, though. #writing
@sgthomas1973 With anything, I think you have to teach Ss to use YT and Google responsibly. I think shielding is more in reference to the content rather than the actual platform. People worry that Ss may come across unsettling content.
