Press Release.. Egypt’s MB Rejects the U.S. Designation Decision
and Confirms It Will Challenge This Decision Legally

The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt affirms its categorical rejection of the decision issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) to allegedly designate it as “Specially Designated Global Terrorists” (SDGT) which is not based on any legally valid evidence. In this regard, the group also affirms that it will take all legal measures to halt the implementation of this decision in order to preserve its rights and the rights of all its members.

In this context, the group draws attention to the potential repercussions of this unjust decision, which may be used as a pretext by authoritarian regimes in order to further oppress the political dissent and civil society activists. The decision could also be exploited by racist groups and movements that promote Islamophobic propaganda and incite hatred against Muslims in the West.

The Muslim Brotherhood is a moderate Islamic idea that fills the hearts of millions of Muslims around the world.
The Muslim Brotherhood is a socio-political movement that such measures will not prevent it from continuing its activity and civic, social, political, and preaching role in Egypt.
