OLIVIA'S STORY: Olivia Hamill's family tells me she began using drugs at the age of 13. After more than a decade of dealing with addiction, Olivia passed away from an accidental overdose at the age of 27.
I spoke with staff at the Council for Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services (CADAS) in Chattanooga to learn how the road to recovery can look, and what challenges those seeking rehabiliation may face.

That’s what Emily Harmon told us. She’s a mother in Signal Mountain who started a petition Saturday to advocate for accessible playgrounds.
Her daughter, Dollie, uses a wheelchair, and she says she can only access about 15% of the playground at Thrasher Elementary.
That petition now has more than 600 signatures.
They are currently not accepting new intakes or facilitating adoptions due to the quarantine taking place, and East Ridge Animal Services plans to re-open on June 5th.

East Ridge Animal Services believes the exposure began while intaking two dogs -- one of which began exhibiting symptoms after the intake process.
To ensure the health of the other dogs at the facility, staff have begun quarantine efforts and are keeping some animals outdoors.
