There are signs that we are past the bottom of global semiconductor cycle (global semi sales rose m/m for fourth straight month in June). Taiwan's trade data confirms that a sequential uptick in electronics demand is underway.
Setting aside the disappointing trade data from #MainlandChina, we see bright spots in #Taiwan's July trade data. Bottomline: electronics demand is likely past its cyclical bottom.
Infocomm & audio-visual product exports surged on the back of increase in shipments of graphic cards and servers. ‘Tech’ exports (combined electronic, optical/precision and ICT goods) rose +5.7% y/y, back in positive territory after a year.
