@Stillmatick Thanks Sandra Sully. There's a difference between a club showing interest and pitching to a list manager who's not willing to discuss, compared to formally offering a 2nd & 3rd round pick that would ultimately have put Collingwood in a points deficit to draft Daicos
One for the Collingwood nuffies out there: Essendon were the only club to put an offer forward for Bobby Hill, despite what Tom Browne may had heard from his daddy. Don't @ me saying GWS/Hill should have just accepted the best Vic club offer, there was only one๐
@thedockers2011@BigFootyDraft Exactly my point, you wouldn't put an offer forward if the club weren't willing to negotiate in the first place (ie. GWS & Collingwood). Completely different situation to Bruest & Wingard who were very happy to stay put where they were. Glad we're on the same page now Alastair ๐
@thedockers2011@BigFootyDraft Can understand your confusion, as LM's discuss player trades and angle hypothetical pitches constantly - that's a given throughout the entire trade period. I'm saying that no formal offer was ever received by GWS from Collingwood, contrary to reports that stated otherwise.
@Upthemightypies@Mattys123@hasumpstuffedup I get your point, but it's a little more complicated than just accepting going to a club you've had zero prior contact with. Also hard not knowing how how a club will be able to support your personal situation. Essendon were the only club to offer a trade for Hill in the end FYI.
@Mattys123@Upthemightypies Well if you're willing to call a player's bluff about needing to be around family for emotional and mental support, then go for it... sounds like Jase is in your corner too ๐
Bobby Hill โshatteredโ, Dodoro & Essendon โconfusedโ at trade falling over. Hill's circumstances & Bombers' offer was considered extremely reasonable. Can confirm future 2nd round pick was the final offer.
Contracted player but still seems mean from McCartney and GWS.

Jason McCartney Translator: "We won't be considering Bobby Hill's compassionate reasons to move to Victoria because Toby Greene's suspended for the first five games and we might need him to play."
#TradeWeek#DeadlineDay#Essendon
Essendon still confident Bobby Hill trade gets done before tomorrow's deadline. A bit to play out in terms of what picks leave & what comes back in return (as well as the perennial McCartney media antics), but Bombers playing it cool & still think it happens. Big 24 hours ahead!
@iBlatant@bulldoglegend@82_steve@GilhamNick Ignore the trolls, @iBlatant. Big culture issues at Dogs at the end of the day. Dons go to the draft with a mega hand that allows them a solid rebuild. Will be interesting to see how Dunkley fares next season. If he's not playing regularly, who's not to say he's at the Dons in 22
You have to feel for Josh Dunkley (and Kyle). Fair to say that Essendon were lead on by the Western Bulldogs when they started entertaining proposals. Ultimately, Bombers made the right decision to hold on to their three top 10 picks instead of caving to ludicrous demands.
The last offer that Essendon put to the Western Bulldogs for Josh Dunkley: Pick 7 and a future second-rounder.
Dogs turned it down @AFLcomau@traderadio
Bulldogs have gone from not wanting to trade Dunkley, to fielding offers, to then demanding 2x first-round picks, to then demanding 2x top 10 picks. Essendon are frustrated but Iโm told that they are still trying to make something work.
