Solidarity with Washington Post journalists today. Stunning, undeserved cuts to an institution that has done such tremendous work both in the U.S. and abroad. They did not deserve this. And neither did their readers.
"The three most important days in American history since the Civil War have been: Dec 7, 1941. Sept. 11. And Jan. 6. We don’t use years for the last two. They aren’t dates on a calendar; they are scar tissue," writes @RepSwalwell:

This is a complicated case, with a LOT of files, so I know it's easy to confuse what's what. What Stephen doesn't understand is that the emails released Wednesday are from Epstein's estate. They were obtained from Epstein's lawyers pursuant to a subpoena that was issued by the House Oversight Committee (lawmakers). These documents are separate from the criminal case files held by the DOJ and the FBI that Trump and Bondi promised to release after the election. (more)

As a working class person in journalism, it troubles me how tough it still is for working class people to break into the trade. So I'm freeing up some time in my calendar for chats with aspirant working class journalists.
Our reporting on Eric Schmidt’s stealth drone project was posted this AM by @perplexity_ai . It rips off most of our reporting. It cites us, and a few that reblogged us, as sources in the most easily ignored way possible. Note the views. #zeroclick https://t.co/qZamti9E83
I wrote about the cruel consequences of America's aging prison population. Why are we forcing older people to spend their dying years in prison when they can get better care elsewhere? https://t.co/rRqZTUjc66
"Let’s please stop saying that Caitlin Clark is 'taking a pay cut' to join the WNBA. She’s looking at the long game, and you should be, too."
@kavithadavidson breaks down the nuance behind the (well-intentioned) outrage.

Justice Alito is fixated on the idea that *someone* has to be able to sue.
#SCOTUS has rejected the "someone must have standing" approach to Article III standing consistently since 1973.
