@Claiparker They have blamed me when they forgot their own email password for google and can’t get to their papers in google docs. They use their personal emails for that. I’ve had parents contact me because their kids can’t remember their email password and they think I have it.

I love ending a quarter with The Odyssey. Even my highly resistant readers admitted that they found it interesting. #literature makes a big difference in student engagement. Informative texts are beneficial, but the kids always prefer a good story.

My oldest son was sorted into his platoon at basic training this week. He’s #6. He’s joined the Reserves to help pay for college. With BCT and AIT I may get to see him for a few weeks before he heads back for his sophomore year of college in PA. I like #9, he looks pretty stoked.

I had a student enter my class speaking no English last year. As the year progressed he wrote an essay explaining his frustrations and loneliness. Yesterday I saw him walking hand in hand with a girl and laughing. He smiled at me and waved. It was a good day.
