The CfA & NSF NRAO team up to take the EHT into space with the Black Hole Explorer (BHEX), combining ground and space telescopes to capture the most detailed black hole images ever, including the elusive photon ring! 🌌🕳️ #BlackHoleImaging#EHT

Researchers led by Anne-Kathrin Baczko from @ChalmersUniv have shown that the EHT + ALMA, can make images of a supermassive black hole and its jets in the galaxy NGC 1052. The measurements confirm strong magnetic fields close to the black hole’s edge.

The EHTC studied the spectacular flare observed during its second campaign on M87, involving over 25 ground-based and space-based telescopes. The authors report the first observation in over a decade of a high-energy gamma-ray flare.

Bonjour tout le monde.
Cette semaine on reprend les conférences à l'Astronef.
Demain soir, Simon Dupourqué aura carte blanche pour nous parler statistique.
Venez https://t.co/D8UBlll41v !
If you are seeking “a highly motivated PhD student,” please note that one of the things that motivates them is a livable allowance. Most of these students have families with children and need a reasonable stipend to survive.

Hey, friendly reminder:
Every single one of you is a source of pride.
And no, it doesn’t matter what you’re doing, or how well it’s going.
You’re pushing knowledge further everyday, with everything that goes well and mostly the things that go poorly.
We’re proud of you.
I’m at a conference today. The organisers just told me that I can’t bring my daughter to the networking session or the dinner tonight. I couldn’t get a babysitter. This is one of those times, as a single parent, that you really miss out. It felt like a gut punch.
