I am a Zionist. Many people out there don’t seem to understand what a Zionist is - and what it isn’t - so here you go.
I believe in the existence of a Jewish home land, Israel, in the land of Judea, where it currently is.
As a Zionist, I do not automatically agree with or support everything the country does, nor do I automatically agree with every government, every politician, every decision.
As a Zionist, I am free to criticize policies and governments of Israel, just the same as I am to criticize the Canadian government or the American government or any other government.
I can believe that the Israelis who spit on Christians should be charged, and I do.
I can believe that the violence in Judea and Samaria needs to be stopped, and I do.
I can believe that every single Israeli, regardless of religion, who commits rape, should be tried and should face the harshest punishments, and I do.
I can believe that every single war crime committed by an Israeli should be prosecuted, and I do.
I can believe that Israel should be held to the same standards of every other nation, and I do.
The only things I don’t do, because I’m a Zionist?
Call for the destruction of the only Jewish nation in the world.
Hold them to a far higher standard than everyone else, just because they’re Jewish.
Spread false propaganda about them, just because they’re Jewish.
Because even though you pretend that’s “antizionism”, it’s just masking your true motives.
Jew hatred.
One of the most frustrating things about the Platner coverage is this belief that his opponents wouldn't mind his conduct if he had "pro-Israel" views.
To the contrary. It's the far left that is overlooking a lot of clear red flags because of his anti-Israel views. Let him go.
I met Ben once. We were seated at the same dinner table.
At first, we did not recognise each other. Neither of us had any idea we would end up at the same table.
I asked him where I knew him from. He replied, “Ben, from Ben & Jerry’s.”
I smiled and said, “Nice to meet you. I’m Alex, Deputy Consul General of Israel to the Southeastern United States.”
This was at the height of the Ben & Jerry’s Israel controversy. I decided not to raise politics, out of respect for our gracious host. But I was also biding my time, because I suspected he would not be able to resist bringing it up.
About an hour into dinner, he came over to talk.
I saw it as an opportunity to understand where he was coming from, to explain a few things, and to keep the conversation as civil as possible. And to be fair, it was civil. He was pleasant, curious, and polite.
But quite quickly, I also realised he was completely ignorant about Israel.
He had never visited the country or the region. He had basic facts wrong, not only about the narrative, but about the foundations of the conflict itself: the makeup of the countries involved, the history, and the deeply rooted reasons each side sees the conflict the way it does.
For him, it was simple: there are people who appear oppressed, so someone must be the oppressor.
I do not blame Ben personally. He is a businessman who sells ice cream. Why should he be expected to understand Israel, the Middle East, or geopolitics?
The real problem is with those who treat him as an authority.
The media gives him a pedestal to speak about issues he clearly does not understand. And that is the absurdity of it all: taking an ice cream salesman and presenting him as a voice of moral clarity on one of the most complex conflicts in the world.
Susan Collins voted for Ketanji Brown Jackson on the Supreme Court. She supported Biden's infrastructure bill, and she voted to convict Trump for insurrection.
She's the textbook definition of a moderate Republican, but since "every Republican is evil," we need the Nazi tattoo guy to replace her.
Hyper-partisan politics should be listed in the DSM-5 as a mental disorder.
One thing that goes unnoticed about the BDS campaign is that it's one directional
What do I mean by that?
Meaning: there is no equivalent campaign from Jews and Zionists to boycott goods from Arab countries.
There is no campaign to ban the screening of Iranian films. There is no movement from diaspora Jews to ban Arab cultural festivals or close Lebanese restaurants
Israel doesn't try to get Muslim countries banned from international sports
The hate operates in one direction and one direction only
We live in a world where people would rather believe a dog can be trained to rape a human being (a scientific impossibility), than believe direct, eyewitness testimony and scientific evidence that Jewish women were raped on October 7th.
Explain that. I can’t.
You don't need to couch your condemnation of Maureen Galindo in mealy-mouthed caveats about the difference between anti-zionism and antisemitism.
She clearly hates Jewish people, and she clearly uses "anti-zionist" as a stand-in for antisemitic, just as so many of us have warned would continue to happen.
For people like this, it was never about Zionism. They use "anti-zionist" as a convenient vehicle and an anesthetized label for them to hate Jewish people.
It's about their hatred for Jewish people. It's about their support of anti-Jewish conspiracy theories.
People like Maureen Galindo do absolutely nothing to direct their rage at evangelicals with zionist views, who, by the way, make up the vast majority of zionists in this country.
But she and hateful people like her are never focused on evangelicals in their "anti-zionist" propaganda.
Because for them, it's about Jewish people.
It's always, somehow, only about Jewish people.
It always comes back to their hatred solely for the Jewish community.
Stop tolerating these sociopaths.
A reminder: Sarah was still alive and tried to crawl away after she was shot. Rodriguez followed her and fired at her again, emptying his firearm at her.
And yet she was still alive and even managed to sit up as he reloaded his weapon. He finished reloading, and fired at her for the final time.
21 spent cartridge cases were found.
May he rot, and may the infested ideology factories that carry water for this madness face every consequence coming to them.
The whole "don't stab Jews because you can't know if they support Netanyahu's policies" is a terrible argument. You're actually allowed to have any opinions you want without getting stabbed. It used to be a whole thing we believed in the west. Don't cater to third worldism.
There is no sugar coating the reality here, which is this:
We have collectively allowed this to become the new normal for Jews and it is now a damning indictment of this country.
I can’t stop laughing! 😂 This guy goes into fast food joints and yells their company slogans after buying their food. 😂 The reactions he gets are hilarious! 🤣
