Since Doug Wilson is trending again, re-sharing this online appendix of his parenting teaching in his own words.
The children in his community are incredibly vulnerable to abuse. 🚨🚨🚨
Oh, Doug, no. No. Christians are to examine the fruit. If the fruit is rotten, the teacher, *who is subject to greater judgment* does not get to cry "user error."
The teaching maps. Here is a thread of receipts: 🧵
To assume that ppl like me support women’s ordination b/c “wokeness” is a fundamental misunderstanding of the pietistic eva corner of the ACNA.
So I decided to write a series on why WO is biblical. It’s a bit ACNA, a bit ordination, a bit women’s leadership, & a lot of Bible.
@Ngamini2004 Thank you! I appreciate your willingness to engage, and I welcome other perspectives! As I hope comes clear in the series: I hold the position I do with conviction but not dogmatism.
@Ngamini2004@NorCalHerper Will be touching on those vss in Part 3 of my series if you are interested!
Any instructions to specific communities must be read alongside the narrative descriptions of what women were doing.
@bonhoefferchild Or some say it was maybe the letter to Laodecia. But thematically it seems a match for Ephesus. Anyway, I found this study note to be kind of a bold claim given all the commentary disagreement.
NT ppl! Tell me your thoughts pls!
Most comms lean toward circular letter & as a result don’t spend any time considering context of ancient Ephesus or Acts 19.
I think 19:10 means even theoretical recipients of circular letter wld have been aware of events at Ephesus, but ???
@bonhoefferchild Thank you! Do you think "in Ephesus" was a later addition - what's your take on that?
Opinions seem divided, but the fact that there aren't really personal details (tho Paul spent a long time there) perhaps indicates it was intended to be generally circulated. +
@AbuseClergy@RNS@kathrynmaepost Most dioceses have women teaching, preaching & leading - so a bit diff than eva comp churches, but the varying viewpoints have to do with ideas about apostolic ministry & authority - things I'll touch on in my series if you're interested! +

@Noahs_Arc_98 Me too! I really hope they also carry it on through to the book of Acts!
I've been watching from the beginning but last year ended up doing a rewatch all in one go and it was incredible to revisit too.
@NorCalHerper Yeah, I mean, I think there are biblical cases for both approaches. I hold my own position with conviction but not with dogmatism. Which is why I think the dual integrity/ies position is wise TBH.
@NorCalHerper Yeah, that's a problem. And quite different than saying: my interpretation is X and yours is Y.
I think you'll see that's not what I'm trying to do...at all...if you decide to read the post.
@NorCalHerper I don’t think so. Prot church has flouted tradition in a number of ways w/out slippery slope.
So too pentecostal traditions that remain rooted in biblical authority.
