Lauren Boebert suggested the threat of debt limit default is made up.
Boebert: “Let’s produce the documents and show us real information, and if you can’t well maybe you just made the whole thing up and we’re not going to default on June 1st.”
54 years ago today—May 14, 1969—was the last day on which a majority of #SCOTUS Justices had been appointed by Democratic presidents.
The next 11 appointments, 13 of the next 15, and 16 of the 21 to happen since the day Justice Fortas resigned have been by Republican presidents.
@dfaltz@JoJoFromJerz@elonmusk I think he’s actually just revealing who he’s always been. He just needed liberals to buy his cars. So he put on a facade for years. This is the real eLOn.
@TomStauff76@ericareport Did you talk to OPEC and MBS. Gas prices are set by the global market. You can blame corporations for price gouging. They have made record profits. They have a monopoly on gas prices. They have intentionally lowered production so that the price would go up. Autocrats hate Dems
@Dadof3LP33@ericareport Mail in voting has been happening since the civil war BTW. Since men were off fighting and could not be at home to vote in person. It is safe and shows insignificant amounts of fraud. Certainly not the kind of widespread coordinated fraud Republicans accuse Democrats of.
@Dadof3LP33@ericareport The term polling also derives from people holding up polls at drunken mass gatherings and then someone counting the polls. Tells me this is accurate, efficient, and no way could result in massive errors.
@Dadof3LP33@ericareport And there was widespread actual fraud in the early days of the Republic. Men used to be rounded up, put in a room and force fed booze, then herded around from polling place to polling place. Illegally voting many times. People were sometimes shot or beaten up for trying to vote.
@Pamela_dow@JeffShrum47@ericareport This is why Republicans don’t want to make Election Day a national Holiday, why Republicans are against universal mail in voting, and why they’re doing everything they can to make it harder to vote. Republicans want voting to be exclusionary and less Democratic.
@Pamela_dow@JeffShrum47@ericareport However we know that mail in voting is not the problem. It’s who’s voting by mail these days that Republicans don’t like. Allowing more people to vote. This leaning Democratic. Because the Republican base is shrinking and the Democratic base is increasing.
@Pamela_dow@JeffShrum47@ericareport Many employers do not give their employees time off to vote. Which is illegal. Or employees are in a position where they Don feel comfortable asking. If you want less mail in voting make Election Day a holiday like Australia.
@Pamela_dow@JeffShrum47@ericareport The difference now is the large number of absentee votes. Which has slowed the counting down. However it’s given more opportunity for more citizens to vote. Considering we live in a busy world that demand people work 24/7 and voting is not on a holiday.
@Pamela_dow@JeffShrum47@ericareport Sorry, that not true. The count has always gone past Election Day. You cannot call elections when it’s still mathematically possible for someone to come from behind and win. Absentee or vote by mail votes are often counted days after Election Day. As has been the case for years.
@Solon_Z@RoniKugler@Alainkaddour9@DiegoMarBroker@ericareport People then get to fix their ballots if they’ve been flagged. Also when the votes are really close you cannot call elections early. When it’s still mathematically possible for someone to come back and win. Every vote needs to be meticulously counted. This isn’t rocket science.
@Solon_Z@RoniKugler@Alainkaddour9@DiegoMarBroker@ericareport Votes can be mailed in, post marked on Election Day or be dropped off in a voter mailbox by Election Day, then take several days to arrive to the voting center, where again it may take days to count. Signatures must be verified. If there is anything wrong with ballots people
