@TheHappyHereti1 If you want to bring Mechwarrior 2 into this, it captures the Clan Omnimechs' animalistic movements.
PGI's MWO/MW5: Mercenaries made 'Mechs awful with stiff inorganic movements, their pizza delivery boy stances w/ the arms, even hip movements. CGL piggybacked on PGI's work.
@TheHappyHereti1 Gundam comparison is mainly for the shallow and uncouth. Because Gundam is easy for the young farts to reach to.
More appropriately, would be comparing BattleMechs to Macross/RoboTech, or Patlabor, Fang of the Sun Dougram, Crusher Joe, or Beast King Golion. Product of the 1980s.
@AlistairTDL@scsimodem More than just SLDF helmets. You have Enhanced Imaging, DNI, VDNI, Interface Cockpits, the Jumping Jack, Natural Grace, Maneuvering Ace, Speed Demon, Hot Dog special pilot abilities.
You have the Word of Blake and Clan versions of the Machina Domini program, from Protomechs.
@TheHappyHereti1 There are even rules for it as well. Natural Grace, Hot Dog, Speed Demon, Jumping Jack, and Maneuvering Ace special pilot abilities to name a few.
The Machina Domini program(both Clan and WoB versions) with the Interface Cockpit system, Enhanced Imaging, Vehicular DNI, DNI.
@TheMechFrog Pffft. Nope.
So many 'Mechs that would be better choices to be the "face" of the ilClan era.
Crucible
Amarok
Jade Phoenix
Dominator
Savage Wolf
Alpha Wolf
to name a few.
I would sooner take a Warhammer IIC every day before I take a Regent, for face of the ilClan era.
@mountianbreaker@SarnaNet SarnaNet was the real account. But the people who ran it scampered to a place more to their sensibilities, where they can receive constant affirmation oaths and ring kissing for their ideology pandering.
@MagestrixRiley Depends on what you read. The Ciaphas Cain readings are pretty funny without being too grimdark. Same with The Infinite and the Divine. If you read Helsreach, or watch the movie, you do get hope and/or uplifting vibes in there.
@RadarFennec@ProcyonWill@Periphery_Anon Some of the newer stuff is good. Stay away from the writing of Bryan Young, Russ Zimmerman, Jennifer Brozek, and Jason Hansa though.
@Periphery_Anon@Fublplaysit81 Go-Go Gadget Robo Penis! The same author that thought it would be cool to try and lecture not just the reader, but characters in the book. And he's one of the "horny teens" guys with a barrette fetish.
