the buyer has already secured $200 in USDC on Base, allowing a contributor to verify the funds before heading out to capture the location

the process is straightforward

film the space from multiple angles with your phone, submit the clip, and wait for the buyer to review it

I revisited the @vangrid_io network today, and what caught my attention is that the idea goes far beyond just a slogan.

Robotics and world models need real-world 3D data: warehouses, sidewalks, building entrances. You can’t extract all this data from the internet; someone has to physically go to these places and capture them.

That’s where Vangrid comes in: it turns smartphones into a distributed capture network, connecting capture requests with contributors on the ground and enabling reward settlements in USDC on the blockchain.

And the most important part? The network isn’t just a promise for the future. Its web app and Android app have been live since July 2026.

As of September 7, the network had recorded:

• 502,752 capture operations verified on Base
