Last week, Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears announced that Jeremiah Eldridge was sentenced to 40 years in prison for the Attempted Murder of his ex-girlfriend and their 10-month-old child.
Eldridge shot the victim during an argument while she was breastfeeding their child.
Cameron Whorton was found guilty-as-charged of four counts of Child Molesting and two counts of Child Molesting after a one-day Court trial.
These convictions follow the Unit’s 100% jury trial conviction rate for child molest cases in 2025.
This week, our Sex Crimes Unit obtained two significant child molesting convictions in separate trials.

Yesterday, Prosecutor Ryan Mears announced that James Thompson Jr. was sentenced to 11 years in prison for a 2022 shooting.
In November 2022, Thompson shot the victim after a minor dispute about flat tires.

Today, Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears announced that Cecil Mains has been charged with Murder for the December 28 shooting death of his wife, Jeri Mains.
Mains shot and killed his wife at their residence while their four children were inside the home.

Prosecutor Ryan Mears announced charges against Levi Garrett yesterday after an independent investigation conducted by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. Garrett has been charged with Attempted Dissemination of Matter Harmful to Minors, a Level 6 Felony.

On Friday, Prosecutor Ryan Mears announced that Ingris Marleni-Hernandez was sentenced to 30 years in prison for her role in the death of her nine-month-old daughter, Ana. In November, Marleni-Hernandez pleaded guilty to Neglect of a Dependent and Aggravated Battery.
Terri Young-Moses has been found guilty-as-charged for deadly crime spree in 2021. Young-Moses was convicted of the Murder of Dezmond King and multiple other crimes that began in August 2021.
