This weekend, we've been joined by some amazing new arrivals — including the Yellow Toothed #Cavy!
This species of #rodent is closely related to the domestic guinea pig, and has settled in really well with us here at #ManchesterZoo
We would like to give you the #opportunity to buy into our exclusive #rewards, which will help towards the rapid developments of the #zoo — take your place at the very beginning of #ManchesterZoo's history, whilst you wait for the doors to open!

The #ManchesterZoo project is going incredibly well, and with the first phase of development on the horizon we want to give you the #opportunity to be a part of this #journey
They're so TINY!
We can't wait to meet our new #Etruscan#shrews, they are the smallest known #mammal in the world and will be a fantastic part of our #Egyptian collection!
Today is an exciting day for us here at #ManchesterZoo, with our new arrival of Snowy #Owls!
We love their breath-taking amount of feathers to keep warm in #Arctic temperatures, as well as the little fluffy slippers on their feet for extra warmth! ❄️
This is the beautiful Swinhoe's striped #squirrel, otherwise known as #Tamiops
They're often mistaken for other #squirrels or #chipmunks, however can be distinguished by their small round ears with white-tipped hairs, as well as the beautiful stripes that run down their back.
This is the Savu #python, one of the smallest of the Asian #pythons.
We are excited to receive our first #animal of this species in the coming weeks, with hopes to play a big part in their #conservation breeding programme!
This amazing species is the #Barbarymacaque, their name referring to the Barbary coast of North West #Africa.
They can be found in troops of up to 100, adapting well to both the hot and cold. They also have very large cheek pouches that can hold as much food as their stomachs!
Today is #NationalWildlifeDay and to celebrate we’d like to highlight all of the incredible work zoo's do to #conserve our #wildlife!
Many species have been saved from the brink of extinction thanks to the wonderful #breeding programmes #zoological collections have implemented!
Happy #InternationalPrimateDay everyone!
Here at #ManchesterZoo, we love #primates, and we are excited to be sharing details later this week about our fully formalised partnership to help save these incredible animals in #Madagascar!
This elegant bird is the #Lesserflamingo, one of the smallest, yet brightest of the #flamingo species.
This beautiful #animal is known to live in the largest flocks, with some amounting up to one million lesser flamingos!
How #amazing is that!
There's only a few days left to get your application in for the April Bradley Grant scheme, so don't miss your chance!
