Jon Rahm was asked ahead of The Open if he’d like to see a more “international” major that travels the world:
“I think it would be good for golf, yeah. I think if you could have more golf elsewhere, I think it would be fine. I just don't know -- as a major, you need to have that commercial value as well. I understand it.
“I wouldn't know the logistics of that. I don't know who can decide what a new major becomes or is now a major. Yeah, that would be interesting to see a major happen in other parts of the world, in other continents, I mean. Golf being a global game and as big as it is, it's something that could be explored for sure.
“From what I've seen the last few years, having a major in Australia could be very successful. Not that Europe deserves two, but having two in Europe would also be good fun. Preferably home court in my case. And same in Asia. I think there would be some great venues and great places to possibly have them.”

@malcolmconn I like that Dawson bowled a wide one to allow Waugh a lash at it with idea that wicket was a possibility too. In hindsight, batter’s eye was right in and he should’ve bowled a length ball on off stump and invited batter to have a slash at that. Regardless, great time on the Hill!
Reporter: "Would you like to see an international major? Not three in the U.S. and one in Europe, but one that travels around the world?"
Jon Rahm: "From what I've seen the last few years, having a major in Australia could be very successful."
Thoughts? Interesting perspective here from Jon.
🚨🗣️🇺🇸 #LOVED GOLF — President Trump remembers Lindsey Graham’s golf game: “He loved playing golf…. He loved being outside… It wasn’t that he was a great striker of the ball. He wasn’t Jack Nicklaus… he was not Tiger. But he loved it and he had fun.”
Yes. Though I’d have the Aussie Open as fourth Major on a rotating basis with the National opens on all continents, and the PGA can just be a Tour event, which it is, like the Players. The PGA is a Major with 25 club pros in it from one country. That’s silly
@MarkGottlieb Lost battles of ethics, honour, dignity, integrity. Won no friends. Outclassed, out-enthused and wiped out on field. Everything their impressive squad achieved, wiped away by collusion between a pair of assholes, the head of state and tournament organiser. Top legacy, dickheads
Playing the Trump Card.
Under Infantino, there’s no longer such thing as an ‘independent FIFA Committee.’
There is only the ‘FIFA Committees for the protection of image, promotion of autocrats and any and all regimes with money to fill FIFA pockets, and the capitulation to power irrespective of the damage to what’s left of its Statutes or the integrity of the game.’
Trump proudly proclaims how he influenced the unprecedented decision during a World Cup.
What an embarrassment for football.
@DanielGarb If they had any dignity, Balogun and Team USA would stand him down. They can’t run out there now having had a decision overturned because the FIFA boss appears subservient to, even afraid of the President of the host country. It’s Banana republic stiff. It’s beyond disgraceful

From Arthur Lees’ assistant at Sunningdale to one of Australia’s legendary, old school, club pros.
The last survivor of the 1951 Open Championship at Portrush.
What a life.
@CraigNorenbergs@jimmaxcricket 100 percent. And Alan McGilvray was the voice of summer before Jim. And Henry Blofeld maybe tops the lot. Mr Buntyy Bagga, if that really is his name, appears in thrall to TV and recency bias.
Somali Omar Artan is the best referee in Africa but won't be in charge of #WorldCup games. Despite carrying diplomatic credentials, @CBP denied him entry in Miami "due to vetting concerns.” No explanation of what "concerns" but the reason seems as clear as it is disdainful.
