Ok gang, at 1800 (central or Sierra for you mil folks) 27 June @WeGettinItDone and I are going to host a virtual LPD on his CAV Teams/CVR. All are invited to attend.
Topic: OPS process in a CAV SQDN
Stay with me and the thread for a sec.
@USARMYMCTP emphasizes PSOP & ways/means to improve coordination, synchronization, unity of effort, common understanding: Higher, lower, adjacent, attachments, unified action partners, liaison etc. Here’s my(biased) older example, anyone w/others to share? We’re LSCO collectors
@CWOB_Ancient@USArmy_CALL@ShaneMorgan_WF6 But ultimately the commander's assessment, competing demands, and other training events will influence how a headquarters approaches the problem.
I think the most interesting piece in the CATS is it recommends a 324 day training plan for a division.
Divisions!
Fight Deep Fight (from the Main)*
Resource Close Fight (from the TAC)*
Protect Consolidation Area (from the SACP)*
*May vary based on your C2 SOP
Organize & train command post to command and control those missions

@CWOB_Ancient@USArmy_CALL@ShaneMorgan_WF6 During a MCT (mission command training) visit, the three CPX model is discussed. Which aligns with the CATS under the culminating training events.

@CWOB_Ancient@USArmy_CALL To the first, harder to answer..was looking for a CATS or old ARTEP to help...I love OLD doctrine...as often as possible...we get silo'd in garrison and struggle to break out and see the "venn diagram" that is staff life.
@CWOB_Ancient@USArmy_CALL @ArmyUPress The last piece i'll offer (for now?) we usually run different staff and ops process in garrison. Missing a chance for reps. How can you improve that? Running Estimates are a good example. Do staff sections maintain one in garrison? or do we copy & paste trackers into PPT slide
@CWOB_Ancient@USArmy_CALL@USArmy_CALL has a lot of great products, i'll link some if they don't.
@ArmyUPress does too within their portfolio of publications as well.
All decision making, including intuitive, requires knowledge and understanding of your stance, the enemy's stance, and what is or is NOT achievable.
The knowledge is there...manage it.
But at the end of the day, it’s a great training opportunity for a BCT and BN commanders and their staff to work the operations process. To be more effective and efficient in planning, preparing, and executing.
A key aspect that often gets overlooked for the TRAINING conducted during a WARFIGHTER (WFX).
Investment in the work cell/response cells. If a BCT or F/MF BDE cell is tasked down to a few random Soldiers the training will suffer.
Deconflict at echelon, training schedules in advance to ease distraction and competing priorities.
BN or BCT CDRs will need to be a gunnery or collective training.
Ease the pain.
@GroupMctp Add in all the resupply going forward, command posts with extra loads to move, casualties and other items out flowing. Lift capacity can become an issue if not planned for.
Mobility & planning!
Who knows the amount of flat beds need to jump the CSH?
What’s the impact on lift capacity and competing demands?
DIV and Corps planners are you thinking about these requirements?
How do you maintain proximity, mobility, flexibility, & control in LSCO
@realHeathSmith@102ndblackhawk6@NCFranklin Scorpion as a CPT (20, 3A)

Panther 07 for two years, & then a little extra as Ramrod (to include the great TDY return adventure) before @NCFranklin replaced me & took over & improved the efficiency and effectiveness of the office.
