A dodgy spyware program called Pegasus has been found on devices in 12 African countries by @citizenlab. This is incredibly scary - especially if you are a journalist or activist. Thread. https://t.co/QwplojUx8r
Pegasus is the Rolls Royce of surveillance programs - it can pretty much hoover up everything from your phone. Your movements, your emails, your calls, your sources. This is the stuff of totalitarian wet dreams.
It’s built by an Israeli cyber warfare firm called NSO Group. Here’s the thing though: they sell it ONLY TO GOVERNMENTS. So if your phone has been infected with Pegasus, then some government agency somewhere is spying on you - and it’s not because they want to be friends.

Minister Nene, will you attend @GlblCtzn Festival in Johannesburg this December and commit to achieving a stunting free generation by 2030 so that all South Africans can Grow Great? @TreasuryRSA #BeTheGeneration#GrowGreatness#GoodFood
#KofiAnnan never stopped fighting for justice, peace & dignity for all, knowing this struggle is a marathon not a sprint. He was warm, compassionate & intelligent, exuding dignity & grace. So privileged to have worked with him to tackle climate change, poverty & gender equality
There is something so sexy about someone who has tapped into their SUPERPOWER of self-confidence. Darling, that swagger makes your unbranded clothing seem atelier, your roll on seem eau de parfum, your home combed hair seemed salon coiffed. I could stare all day! @Powerfm987
