I got a chance to listen to opera singers and graduate students Kira Neary (soprano) and Lawrence Barasa (tenor). They were supported on the piano by Craig Kier, director of the @MDOperaStudio.

The 1st year class, with help from alumni, 2nd year students, recorded excerpts from the new opera “Sunder” composed by Nailah Nombeko with libretto by Alicia Haymer. The opera will premiere in full in the fall semester of 2021, keep an eye out for these excerpts and more soon!
