Why is Africa the way it is?
What are its main regions?
Its most defining features?
What's key about each country?
Most of it is rooted in 2 factors.
Here's how to understand Africa and each one of its countries:

I always love adapting @historysandoval gummy bear lesson. This year my students are showing off what they know about types of gov by creating scenes with digital gummy bears. @Fossil_Hill
Today students compared the rights Americans have to citizens of other countries around the world using @ConstitutionCtr interactive map. They had lots of great questions and conversations. @Fossil_Hill
Inspired by @historysandoval use of children’s books to help introduce units/themes while students cycle through stations. I can’t wait to add more books to my collections to reinforce world cultures and geography. @KISDSStudies
What an exhilarating #KISDFirstDay at @Fossil_Hill After being almost entirely remote last year my mind was blown at the energy and excitement my 6th grade scholars walked in with. Looking forward to meeting them where they are and growing from there.
Spent the last 3 weeks exploring California and Oahu. Now I’m excited to start preparing for a new school year. I still need to move out of my classroom, set up and decorate the new one, and start wrapping my head around my new content. I can’t wait!

It’s official, next yr I’ll be joining @Fossil_Hill as a 6th grade social studies teacher. I appreciate the yrs I’ve spent teaching early U.S. history but I’m so excited to transition into geography and world cultures.
Today is the big day!🎉 My 7th-grade geography students will be presenting their Epcot Pavillion projects! This is a work in progress project, but feel free to check out the resources I created for this project: https://t.co/Tn7KCMC1oB #sschat#worldgeochat#ksedchat#edtechchat
