In science we have been learning about our senses. We then explored the five senses using lemon, lime, chocolate and spinach. HS “The lemon makes a noise when you squeeze it!” @MD_headteacher #MDScience

We have already seen super participation across school, remember the more you Use TT Rockstars the more you will help your team.
We had a wonderful visit to Ackworth Community Library. The children’s behaviour was outstanding. We listened to Debbie the librarian about the different areas of the library and we found a book we’d like to read and one we already have read and enjoyed.@MD_headteacher #MDReading

Today in maths we have introduced ones and tens. We used straws to bundle ten together. We do need to practise counting in tens to help us identify the tens in a number. @MD_headteacher #MDMaths @MathsWaterton
We are using our skills from last week to create our own stories about the King from our class book. Yesterday we created a story map with some ideas for the beginning, middle and end of our stories. Today we have started to write them! @MD_headteacher #MDWriting
Come on Class One! With your wonderful imaginations and all our Great British Playdough fun last year in Reception I’m sure you could create a spooktacular entry! @MD_headteacher
This afternoon we have been developing our balancing skills with some yoga. The poses we have tried really have made us think about how many balance points we have when doing them. Have you tried the caterpillar pose? @MD_headteacher #MDPE
If anyone has any old newspapers or magazines they no longer need, Class 1 would be very grateful. This will help us complete our portrait collages in a couple of weeks.
Thank you in advance! @MillDamSchool
Here are some of the words we came up with to describe the King in our story book “Don’t Read This Book” by Jill Lewis and Deborah AllWright. @MD_headteacher #MDWriting#MDPhonics
As part of our art curriculum this half term we are learning about portraits. Today we looked at Paul Klee’s artwork and we created backgrounds using watercolours. Next week we will be adding line drawings of ourselves or someone important to us. #MDArt @MD_headteacher
In science we are learning about the body, yesterday we were investigating whether people with big feet would need big gloves. We drew round our hands and feet and measured them using a ruler. We discovered everyone had different sized feet and hands! #MDScience @MD_headteacher
Our fantastic new @MD_Class1 learners will embark on their new learning theme 'Ourselves' next week. They will be getting to know all about themselves and each other.
