As @GovWesMoore says, the people in communities know best how to address the challenges they’re facing.
Here in Maryland, through the ENOUGH Initiative, we’re empowering groups like We Our Us to continue to do the work. That’s what real change looks like.
Marylanders, tax season’s almost over!
We’ve expanded credits and benefits to put money back into the pockets of Maryland families, so be sure to check your eligibility for these state and federal benefits when you file your taxes:
💰 Maryland Earned Income Tax Credit: Marylanders could get up to $4,000 back on their state tax return.
🧑🧒 Maryland Child Tax Credit: Eligible families with children can receive a $500 credit per child to help with the cost of raising children.
🧑🧒🧒 Section 530A Savings Accounts: Families with children born between 2025 and 2028 can claim a $1,000 federal contribution to jumpstart your child’s future. Families in certain zip codes with children younger than age 10 may also be eligible for a $250 contribution.
🎓 Maryland 529 Plans: Save for your child’s future education or career training today, free from federal and state taxes. Eligible families can receive up to $500 with the Maryland Save4College State Contribution Program.
Claim what is yours, and let’s keep moving Maryland forward.
This tax season, don’t leave cash on the table. Eligible Marylanders could get up to $4,000 just by filing their state tax return through the Maryland Earned Income Tax Credit.

The EITC and CTC can lift families out of poverty -- but only when families know to claim them.
We joined @GovWesMoore and @MDComptroller to launch an expanded campaign to make sure ALL Marylanders know how to claim these tax credits. Learn more: https://t.co/W9OOihZIYM
It's been just over one year since the start of the ENOUGH Initiative and Maryland children and families have already felt its impact:
ENOUGH is increasing access to good jobs, good schools, access to health care, and safer communities.
And the work is just getting started.
With Maryland's ENOUGH Initiative, communities are coming together identify their greatest needs and assets.
Families and children are learning about resources they never knew existed, and neighborhoods are building a picture of their needs -- and exactly how to address them.
While Washington makes the biggest cut in child poverty-fighting programs in our nation’s history, Maryland is doing things differently.
The Moore-Miller administration is doubling down on our efforts to support children and families.

Yesterday, @GovWesMoore launched the second year of ENOUGH — sending $19 million to communities to fight child poverty.
Already, ENOUGH communities have helped create good jobs, good schools, access to health care, and safer communities.
And the work is just beginning. 🌟
Today, @GovWesMoore announced a push to recruit additional male teachers.
Recruiting more male teachers will continue progress to end the teacher shortage and create brighter futures for Marylanders in and out of the classroom.

ENOUGH runs on community-driven solutions. That's why ENOUGH communities like @centralbaltpart are directly engaging residents in their work with local schools and early-learning partners.
Feedback from residents will shape their plans to take on the community's challenges.
In Hagerstown, families without a car often struggle to get kids to school or carry essentials. Bester Community of Hope responded using ENOUGH funding to provide 200 collapsible wagons to families.
Communities are alleviating daily struggles for families through ENOUGH.

Yesterday @GovWesMoore began demolition of @PimlicoRC -- a historic moment for Park Heights. The new Pimlico will bring jobs, housing, and businesses to the community.
ENOUGH is all about investing in communities that have been shut out and we're putting our values into action.
.@BaltimoreSouth is creating permanently affordable housing with zero displacement. ENOUGH is helping them build strong partnerships to unlock additional resources.
By partnering with @MDHousing, they received funding through @GovWesMoore's Reinvest Baltimore initiative.
Washington County, @MarylandDOT, MD's federal delegation, the GOC, and ENOUGH partners worked together to help secure a $2.3 million grant to help build a brand new bus facility that will improve transit access for ENOUGH communities.
This is all-of-government work in action.
