What a beautiful day for some sett surveying! Members old and new enjoyed a bit of exercise and good company. More to look forward to this week as we begin a series of regular badger watches for Mid Derbyshire Badger Group members 👀🦡🦡🦡🦡

This badger had been seen foraging in the daytime, we rushed her to the vets, sadly she had lots of problems including liver failure and her stomach was empty, she was so small. After a long discussion with the vet we made the decision to stop her suffering. We called her Tiny.

This is Bernice who was found sleeping in a pygmy goat pen in someone's garden. We could see she had injuries so we managed to get her into the cage and straight off to the vets. After a course of treatment, her injuries healed so on Sunday we released her back into the wild

Wonderful to see that we've recently had an article published in The People's Friend ! Our current rehab is only big enough for 1 badger. We have taken in 3 in 10 days so we are raising money for our second rehab so here's the link

Many thanks to all those who organised, led and attended our recent rescue training day at the weekend. We usually hold these once or twice a year. It was great for those with more experience to share their knowledge and we now have a much boosted rescue team 💪🦡.

Today we had our first rescue of the year after an injured badger was found at Belper railway station. Many thanks to Kev who called us and stayed with the badger until our rescuer arrived.
He was sadly PTS at the vets due to the extent of his injuries 😭.

It was our AGM last night and members enjoyed a wonderful talk by Jack Perks Wildlife Media all about wildlife on our doorstep.
